Stephen Baldwin, Gary Sinise, Robert Duvall, Namrata Singh Gujral lead Fest Line-up
Arlington, Virginia – Indo-American actress, Namrata Singh Gujral, will present the American Pride Films Award for “Encouragement of Films that Salute the heroism of the Armed Forces”, just one of the few highlights of the Second Annual GI Film Festival, which will be held May 14-18, 2008 at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC.
Fellow actors Gary Sinise, Stephen Baldwin and Robert Duvall are all scheduled to attend the 2008 star studded festival line-up. Overall, the five-day festival will present both classic and premier films honoring the nation’s men and women in uniform.
“Regardless of one’s political leanings, it is crucial to support and salute our men and women in uniform. I feel personally indebted to soldiers around the world that give up so much, so we may have the freedoms that we take for granted, and live our lives as we choose to live them.” said Namrata Singh Gujral on her reason for attendance. “Cannes kicks off right now too but for me this fest is right up there on the priority list; maybe further up”, she added.
“Our mission is simple: To honor the successes and sacrifices of American GIs through the medium of film. Some of the films will be fan favorites. Others will be screened for the first time. All will, in some way, honor the courage and selflessness of our fighting men and women,” said GI Film Festival President Brandon Millett. Scheduled events include:

I want Stephen to kick Alec’s rear on tv.
Applause for the good guys.
Glad to see this happening. Too often, Hollywood types have nothing good to say about the military.
I am shocked Celeb’s that are showing support to our GI’s, ok guys and gals time to sign up for the USO too
On tv?
I just want him to kick Alec’s a$$, period.
Most of those on the list have either gone on USO tours recently, just got back from USO tours, and/or will be going out again on USO tours.
Make a point of supporting those actors that support our troops, guys.
I think Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan band will be performing at Cantigny Park, home of the First Division museum, in Wheaton, IL this month. He has been very supportive of the troops and the band’s not too bad either.
I love Gary Sinise. Even when he’s playing the bad guy!
Tom Cruise, Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Brian dePalma and Michael Moore need not clear their calendars.
Sinise has been to the AOR on at least one occasion - he played bass with a pick-up band. He’s a class act and lets his actions speak as well as his words. That, and he’s cool.
Colonel, USAFR
I heard that all about Sinise sir, and have seen his action speak for his words and what he believes in...
I was actually speaking of the others, but thank you for backing up what I heard and also thank you for your service sir...
BTW I would luv to hear some of your music sometime, I luv hearing new musicians out there, keep up the good work and God bless!
Namrata Singh Gujral. Yowzeeeee! Holy crap, I’m smitten.

Also, next year WWE’s Tribute to the Troops will be shown on NBC. At the recent stockholders meeting Vince McMahon said that it is more important to him than Wrestlemania, because it’s just the right thing to do.
For those who don’t know, tribute to the troops is when the WWE goes over to Iraq and/or Afghanistan and do shows and meet & greet sessions with the troops.
