A significant number of West Virginians (and some others in America) evidently take the view that U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim.
In a surpassingly depressing report from the coal-miner state on the eve of Tuesday's West Virginia primary, The Los Angeles Times noted voter views that go like this: "We do not need a Muslim to lead the good ole USA."
It would not necessarily be so horrible if this well-spoken senator from Illinois were in fact Muslim. It turns out that most Muslims, like those in the country with the world's most Muslims (Indonesia), are wonderful people who respect Allah, respect their countrymen, abhor violence and extremism, and generally would make excellent next-door neighbors.
Very early in his life, Obama lived in Indonesia, before he returned to his native Hawaii, so he had met a lot of them. As a result, he doesn't think many Muslims are so terrible. That's because most Muslims, in fact, are not terrible no more terrible than the rest of us, Christian or otherwise.
If the American president were in fact a Muslim, you must understand that more than 1.2 billion of the world's Muslims would want to vote for him.

Obama is not an apostate. He is a temporary Christian.
It would be so bad because he is denying that he is or ever was a muslim. If there wasn’t anything wrong with it in regards to his campaign, why would be run from such a notion?
This is not to say that all muslims are bad. Those who choose to lie to the kufir are intellectually dishonest.
Just like someone who won’t salute the flag is someone who may also decide to drop all of the pomp and circumstance as President. Or perhaps work towards an end that is counter to the best for this nation.
YOU must understand that not all of the world's muslims are muslim by choice. Some live in theocracies that prohibit the practice of any other faith, that persecute those of any other faith, and that impose a death penalty on any muslim who converts to any other faith.
Muslims DO believe in Christ. As a minor figure. They deny His divinity, His death by crucifixion, and His resurrection.
Here is one of a few thousand:
Sep 16, 2007: Bishop warns that Muslims who convert risk being killed unless Muslim leaders in Britain speak out in defence of the right to change faith. A poll of more than 1,000 British Muslims, conducted by the Policy Exchange think-tank this year, found that 36 per cent of Muslims aged between 16 and 24 believe those who convert to another faith should be punished by death. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,2170160
You suggest that Obama is a temporary Christian, but he may only be a pretend Christian. IMHO, Wright’s church is nothing but Black Muslim with a Christian veneer, the better to sneak under the radar. They welcome Muslim members and do not require them to be baptized. Wright himself was once a Black Muslim, and for we know may still be one. His Jesus is a Black Power Jesus, to all intents and purposes.
Has Obama been baptized? If not, then he is not a Christian.
Where’s his birth certificate? Why does he refuse to release it? Where’s his baptismal record?
A few months ago, a WA PO reporter called me to inquire about my posts regarding Obama’s Muslim background. He asked me if I still thought that it was important, and I said no, except for the fact that he is lying about it and about Trinity.
Trinity is not a Christian church, not the kind of Christian church that we, as Christians know. They believe that Christ was the spiritual son of God, that he was sent as the perfect role model to teach us to love our neighbor and share (wealth redistribution). Black Liberation Theology was developed by Marxists, as what they call, an organizational praxis. A praxis is little more than a technique, it is a course of action. Black Liberation Theology is an off shoot of the Liberation Theology that the Marxist Jesuits developed in South America to organize the peasants to rebel against the government.
Now, there are all sorts of Liberation Theology, including an Islamic Liberation Theology. An interesting premise of all the Liberation Theologies is that they don’t believe in personal sin for the “oppressed people”. The only sin that an “oppressed person” can be guilty of, is not to rebel against the hegemonic oppressors, who in the case of BLT, means against the western white man. Oh, and BLT does not support any use of the military by the US.
That’s one of many sources saying that Muslims should behead apostates. No one doubts that. But how many of them are calling for Obama to be beheaded, the way they did with Rushdie? Why have there been no fatwas?
They give degrees to just about anyone nowadays, don’t they?
“This politician is in fact a Christian. If you don’t believe this, just ask Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright...” (who is a former member of NOI).
The point is not whether Obama is or is not. I noticed a spokeswoman for ISNA issued a statement the other day proclaiming that they do not consider Obama a Muslim. Of course, they only issued the statement because they desperately want the dufus elected. The point is that we cannot give Islam any room or reason to grow. Obama, the Appeaser, would do just that. We have already had an exceedingly difficult time getting Republicans to learn the finer points of Islam and our own State Department has affiliated itself with pro-Hamas American Muslim groups. I don’t want to see the awareness, the gradual awakening, go backwards. That is precisely what would happen with Obama as POTUS.
My theory is that his "conversion" is a cover to make people believe he's a Christian. Wright's preaching sounds more like Minister Farrakhan's than Bishop Sheen's, and I wouldn't be surprised if Wright is also a "closet" Muslim. This would explain why he agitates for hatred of America. Doesn't Islam allow its followers to make exceptions to their laws in order to advance the Islam agenda? If this is so, Bambi and Wright need not fear Islamic punishment.
By the way, just what is a "community organizer"? Something like what we once referred to as a Communist agitator?
The dog that didn’t bark.
Here's the thing we have to consider. The minute President Hussein takes a pro-Israel stand or does anything to piss off Iran or the Palestinians, you can take it to the bank that there will be a fatwa because he is an Apostate.
The fact that he is a supposedly Former Muslim will not sit well with Muslims if he does anything to piss them off. They like him now because they perceive that he is one of them. They perceive that his Christianity is only worn on his sleeve and is not embedded in his heart.
Frankly, I perceive that same thing.
Barak Hussein Obama is purely a media creation.
islam is incompatible with freedom and democracy—PERIOD, END OF STORY (and sorry, but anectdotal stories about the nice muslim family that lives down the street means nothing when faced with the facts)...
///most Muslims, like those in the country with the world's most Muslims (Indonesia), are wonderful people who respect Allah, respect their countrymen, abhor violence and extremism, and generally would make excellent next-door neighbors...until they find out you have alcohol in the fridge, then they kill you and burn down your house. Thanks geo. :')
Again, a generality.
The many Islamic-related circumstances surrounding Obama (family, childhood, "conversion", and statements such as the above), as well as the reflection from many Muslims that they believe BHO still to be a Muslim (check expatguy's blog), plus the fact that the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) will allow practicing Muslims to be full fledged members of their "church" (as confirmed by several witnesses as coming from TUCC staff), has me firmly convinced that Obama has not truly converted to Christianity and remains a Muslim. The only reason to do that, beyond fostering his gaining power thereby, is to work to the benefit of his religious brethren, which, because of their religion's rule being incompatible with their goal of a Caliphate for the US, or at least Sharia, is entirely antithetical to our Republic, US!
He's a Manchurian candidate, and I believe we will likely yet see what Ann Coulter's "poor little Hillary" has in store for him to keep him from enjoying becoming President.

Having heard the call to prayer at 5 am, I never thought of it as very delightful. When the FCC requires it to replace the SSB at signoff, even less so.

Atatürk was fighting against the Islamists long before America knew they were a problem.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, 1st President of Turkey, In office: October 29, 1923 November 10, 1938
"...... founder of the Republic of Turkey as well as its first President."
" An admirer of the Enlightenment, Atatürk sought to transform the ruins of the Ottoman Empire into a modern, democratic, secular, nation-state."
"Mustafa Kemal saw the consequences of fascist and communist doctrines in the 1920s and 1930s and rejected both."
"Islamic courts were closed and Islamic canon law was replaced with a secular civil code modeled after the Swiss Civil Code"
"Kemal wanted to solve the litteracy problem. Literate citizens, who comprised as little as 10% of the population, used the Ottoman Language written in Arabic script with Arabic and Persian loan vocabulary.[29] Dewey notes that roughly three years with rather strenuous methods were necessary to learn to read and write in Arabic script on the elementary level[29]. The creation of the new Turkish alphabet as a variant of the Latin alphabet was undertaken by the Language Commission (Turkish: Dil Encümeni) at the initiative of Kemal.[29] The Turkish alphabet was decreed on 24 May 1928."
"The Decree on dress targeted the religious insignia used outside times of worship. Kemal passed a series of laws beginning from 1923, especially the Hat Law of 1925 which introduced the use of Western style hats instead of the fez, and the Law Relating to Prohibited Garments of 1934, which emphasized the need to wear modern suits instead of antiquated religion-based clothing such as the veil and turban."
