Texas Polygamy Case Based on a Lie
LiveScience.com ^ | Thu May 22, 5:50 PM ET | Benjamin Radford

Posted on 05/23/2008 10:12:33 AM PDT by LeGrande

"The raid - resulting in the largest child custody case in American history - was based on a lie."

"Police traced the calls to 33-year-old Colorado Springs woman named Rozita Swinton. Swinton had earlier been arrested for making a false report, and accused of posing as "Jennifer," 16, who called 911 to report that her father had locked her in a basement for days. Swinton may also have posed as thirteen-year-old Dana Anderson, who was being sexually abused by her pastor and raped by her father. There is no evidence that Sarah, Jennifer, or Dana exist. Swinton remains a "person of interest" in the case, but has not been charged in connection to the raid. "

Here's is marriage records from Familysearch.org which is an LDS publication. If the LDS church's official publications clearly indicate that Joseph Smith had many wives, why do you deny it?

Give me a break. Read the preamble. Familysearch.org clearly says that it takes no responsibility for the accuracy of the records.

What does this have to do with your obscene picture anyway?

Did you see the beating that I gave FastCoyote, because he posted that picture to me? Do you want the same?

Good thing you are not getting personal on this thread.

Where is your contemporaneous source?

So, I take it that you don't consider period court affidavits, and statements by Smith's friends, acquaintances, and wives as "contemporaneous."

That pic, dude, is the very evidence that you and your "cabal" has been howling for over the past couple of weeks. It was the first anniversary picture of Jeffs and his 13-year-old wife, one of several young girls in his harem.

The truth hurts, doesn't it?

That sure needs to be repeated.

Over, and over, and over.....

After all, she could just give him a copy of her book to read in 12 years or so.

So let me see if I get this right.

The records showing that Smith was a polygamist are suspect because......????

But the records showing the age of this girl is not suspect because.....????

“You know, for a whole lot of LDS folks who are on record here at Free Republic for the last 7 weeks saying the FLDS cult had absolutely nothing to do with mainstream Mormonism whatsoever, there sure to seem to be alot of Latter Day Saints coming out of the woodwork to defend FLDS to the bitter end. “

Is that bizarre or what? I mean, for years on end you never hear a peep out of any of these people concerning protecting “Constitutional rights” and all of a sudden we see this hysterical surge in “Freedom Lovers” who want to save the Constitution - all over the issue of the FLDS.

Methinks something stinks in Denmark.

Now, if I were into Cabal theory, I’d say what has happened is that a bunch of LDS found their religion and FLDS as close as two peas in a pod. Now, they could either admit that what is going on in Eldorado is a sickening display of incest, mind manipulation, human breeding experiments and child rape inspired by Joseph Smith directly - or they could come up with a diversionary scenario in which the FLDS are misunderstood delightsome people.

So, given that Blood Atonement means never having to say you are sorry, they’ve opted for the whitwashing of the whole affair by wrapping themselves in the Flag and apple pie.

Of course, this is all the same types of behavior that happened at Zion and Far West and Nauvoo and in the Utah War, but who reads history anymore?

Poor little victims, always misunderstood, even when the video interviews show grown women with the minds of 12 year olds. Look the other way, nothing going on here!

So your evidence that the CPS was justified in removing 460 children from their parents is a photograph of a man who is in prison? Just for the record, are you implying that all 460 children are in imminent danger from the man in the picture, who is currently in jail?

LOL That is just too funny for words, but I guess that is the best that you or the CPS have.

Of course, I would love to see everyone rescued from that group, adults too. Don't you want the adults rescued?

What is your point? Surely you aren't implying that I am defending the FLDS beliefs? Because if you are, that would make you a really sick demented person.

You seriously expect me to believe that an LDS organization posts unverified records about their own prophet and leaves it up long enough for other sites to reference it?

I take it you must be RLDS, believing Brigham Young introduced polygamy and not Smith?

“Did you see the beating that I gave FastCoyote, because he posted that picture to me? Do you want the same? “

What beating was that? Legrande just seemed to be getting more and more bizarre in his statements (something about the CPS being child kidnappers who should be executed is where I left off).

You know Legrande, there is a point where people are so far off this planet that responding to them is counterproductive. You’ve made some pretty darn strange statements - for example, that police should wait until after someone kills their victim to intervene because Law Enforcement has no obligation to protect anyone. Your continual defense of the FLDS while claiming otherwise also fits this category. The claim that Joseph Smith had no other wives flies in the face of reality. The claim that I am a sexual pervert because I reposted a picture of Warren Jeffs kissing a 13 year old - even though that picture is all over the internet. And the hysterical claims that we are a Cabal - though clearly a Mormon cabal also exists.

At some point above, you lost all credibility, not only to myself but to anyone following this discourse. All I’m doing is slowly prying out the real you for all to see, a very vindictive name caller who though an atheist pines for the good old days snuggling at the feet of Hugh Nibley.

I suspect you took the name Legrande from Legrande Richards? Am I correct??

You have clearly failed to provide a contemporaneous source. Like I said before repeating lies simply make you a liar.

I take it you must be RLDS, believing Brigham Young introduced polygamy and not Smith?

No I am an atheist. Joseph Smith clearly introduced polygamy, but you might be starting to close in on the truth. Emma is the reason that I am confident that that Joseph Smith never practiced polygamy.

That and the glaring lack of any DNA evidence.

3. If she was allowed to communicate with him..Nah..Probably not...
4. If he hasnt been tossed out on the street and lost or dead or on drugs...

Three more reasons why entering a picture of her as a victim has nothing to do with determining the fitness of Mr. and Mrs. Jessop to retain parental rights to their newborn son. If she were unlikely to have contact with him or them, what difference would it make that she suffered a sexual assault as a child?

As to your 4th contention, speculation about what might happen 12 years from now has nothing to do with a determination as to whether his parents should retain custody of the baby today. For example, sad as it may be, the risk that a particular child could end up using drugs 12 years from now exists all across our society.

He's been spouting this non-sense all week about the Feds executing the Texas authorities who raided the YFZ compound.

FLDS members fear possibility of a second raid
