"There is no problem that is not so bad that it cannot be made worse by Congress fixing it." --REBierce
The heads of U.S. oil companies completed the second stage of their Congressional Big-Oil-Bash-Athon yesterday by answering questions from largely-economically illiterate congressmen--and women.
Congress took time out from pandering in person to pander in front of the TV cameras. The big winner of the "Comrade Stalin" award was Maxine Waters, who threatened to nationalize (seize) the oil company's assets.
Apparently, Waters is committed to bring the same brand of efficiency to the oil companies that government has demonstrated at the Post Office and Social Security.
Waters doesn't remember the past: therefore, like the Flying Dutchmen, she's condemned to wander around in a haze, searching for a Congressional "fix".

Great idea for the Democrat campaign, I can see it now, “If you want to be more like Russia and Venezuela, we need to nationalize the oil companies.” “Vote Democrat!”
Scene out Mad Maxine II: Ceo from Shell tries to reply - Mad Maxine, screeches: whitey, did I tell you that you could speak? Say what?????? Oh, no you did not - I will national, ummmm-uhhhh, I will ax you where you sittin. The saga of Mad Maxine - Angry Black Woman continues......../Just Asking - seoul62........
That’s another sound byte to keep on the front burner for the rest of this “ejection season”. Keep reminding the whole country of what the Demoncrat Party is really all about.
And create an atmosphere where the average know-nothing schmo laughs at you for even suggesting that there are communist supporters in the demonRat party.
International A.N.S.W.E.R., was formed by leaders of the Workers World Party (and mere days after the 911 attacks). WWP is a collection of Stalinists based in New York City. When A.N.S.W.E.R. was eventually outed as a communist front, WWP started up a new "peace" group called Troops Out Now. Democrat chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Charlie Rangel, actually gives speeches at their rallies and the New York City media looks the other way (also is never confronted by Hannity or O'Reilly about it).
Here is a photo (from the WWP's own website) of chairman Rangel at the podium of a March 19, 2005 WWP/TON "anti-war" rally in NYC. March 19, 2005 marked the 2nd anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. Other prominent lefties who spoke at the rally were the former attorney general under democrat president LBJ, Ramsey Clark , and Lynne Stewart , convicted of aiding islamic terrorists. Clark heads the International Action Center and had a major role in the formation of A.N.S.W.E.R. All three organizations, The International Action Center, Troops Out Now and Workers World Party have headquarters at the same exact location in New York City.

From the website of the Workers World Party, workers.org:
"On July 9 (1994), Workers World Party Chairperson Sam Marcy sent the following statement to Comrade Kim Jong Il, the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea and the State Funeral Committee of President Kim Il Sung.":
"Dear Comrade Kim Jong Il ...
Workers World Party values our close, comradely relations with the Workers Party of Korea very highly. We are proud to have known Kim Il Sung as a great leader and a comrade in the international communist movement. ...
With comradely solidarity, Sam Marcy Chairperson, Workers World Party":

Do you mean our govt. or any govt.?
When I last visited Mexico (this spring) I took note of the fuel prices there as they are run by the national government Pemex. Recent prices I could find were about $2.50 gal US for regular with diesel about $2.10 gal US. This was in a tourist city so I don't know if it's cheaper or more expensive once you get out of the tourist area.
I know Mexico has a lot of oil but so do we if we could produce it. As bad as the Mexican government is they seem to get it done. I think if a refinery needs to be built in Mexico it gets built without the crap that has to happen like in this country.
It may work there but I think here it would be a disaster.
That, and “Paging Henry Bowman...”
The really scary part is that she's smarter than the people who elected her!
I fear for our country. We are going to need a revolution soon.
I aa afraid Waters is just the tip of the iceberg on The Hill. She just inadvertently spilled the beans.
The problem is that there are plenty of stupid people around who believe that a socialized energy industry would be a good thing.
Obama reaches out across an endless sea of stupidity
As my late grandfather used to say, "That woman is a dumb as a box of rocks".
He was wrong, she is dumber than a box of rocks.
Yes, and ANSWER works directly with and demonstrates with John McCain’s Hispanic outreach/policy man, Juan Hernanadez. When you see the illegal aliens marching and protesting you see ANSWER.
That's where you and I differ. I think she honestly couldn't think of, among other things, "nationalize." She has the concept--just lacks the vocabulary!
Isn’t it this exact type of irresponsible rhetoric that sends the futures market into a steep climb for fear that government will actually carry through with the threat?
Just watched the video - you’re probably right, she’s dumber than a box of rocks.
And I especially liked how the lady to the left was covering her mouth to keep from laughing.
He's already left the building.
Let's not make the mistake of thinking that she is the only one who wants to communise this country - she merely slipped up in public. They ALL plan this!
Why do you think we've seen NO concern over what the gas prices are doing to the trucking industry - not just the independents...just this week, one of the top 100 trucking companies closed it's door, after 27 years, 'due to the price of fuel".
IF YOU BOUGHT IT, A TRUCK BROUGHT IT
If the trucks stop rolling, the shelves in the grocery stores are empty in 2 days flat. This will follow rapidly in other stores and the country is in free-fall. They have planned this, deliberately and with malice aforethought...as their way to deep six freedom in this country and institute Communism.
DOUBT IT NOT!
We'd better all start screaming NOW and stop pulling the lever for the Marxists = or bone up on how to live under Communism. We are in what well may be the biggest paradigm shift in our lifetimes.
Are we going to lay down and get rolled over?
Henry just got it started. WE need to step up and do it!
There you go again!—insulting rocks!
