Called Darling Daughter a few minutes ago. Happened to catch her in the ER.
She's been in what she describes as a minor bike accident and has an "impaled injury on her arm".
She sounded more or less OK. Didn't want to bother her parents, and has friends with her.
They had just given her something to 'calm her down' (it wasn't working all that well) and were going to perform a procedure that minute.
Didn't find out which arm, what was stuck in it, or what hospital before she had to go.
Since she's a Banana Slug, and the closest hospital to UC Santa Cruz is Dominican, that's probably where she is.

Final update:
Finally got to see her arm today. She has healed nearly completely. The injury is a flat red scar, two 1-1/2” long lines meeting at right angles, with a little nasty looking scab at the apex. Another small scab further up and towards the inside of he upper arm caused by the adjacent pale.
If it was on the side of her arm, I’d say she got her PFC stripes.
Speaking of awards, I’m told the local Crank Mob called her poster gurl of the month.
Anyway, she’s going to be perfectly fine. My guess is that in a year the scar will be unnoticeable.
