I arrived home today after work to find my wife had died. She suffered an apparent heart attack and passed very peacefully while taking her afternoon nap. Cynthia Marie was 52 and we have been together since the 4th grade. Our daughter is 21 and will be home in the morning. Her neurosurgeon will be repairing a complicated spine problem that has caused nutmeg significant discomfort for a lengthy time. Mrs Don-o wrecked on her bike this morning and has broken bones in both her arms plus a broken left elbow. She will have surgery tomorrow for the elbow. I left her in good spirits, after she was given some pain medication. I just got home from my friend's house. His girlfriend of 25 years has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. He is a vietnam war vet/disabled and she works in the rape crisis unit at the hospital. I've spoken to his wife and he is in the hospital and has had a stent installed, and the prognosis looks good for recovery. Keeping him in your thoughts is appreciated. As many of you know my mother passed away last December. I just got off the phone with my sister. My father passed away during the night in his home. It seems he just could not wait to be with his wife in our Lord's Love. He had a procedure earlier this week and was discharged yesterday with a clean bill of health for someone 74 years old. A friend I know via the internet told me yesterday that he, and now his little daughter, have a strain of MRSA that is resistant to "almost everything". His seems to be improving somewhat, but hers is not. Although I have never met him, he is almost like a brother because of the wonderful conversations we have had about God, truth and the meaning of life. We learned this week that my SIL in Missouri (Teresa) has two tumors on her brain, and a "spot" on her lung that is very likely cancer. She's be biopsied on Monday, don't know when they'll get the results. My brother is torn up. His youngest daughter is in the Navy, requesting an emergency leave to be home with her mom. Doctor told them that there's about a 20% chance she'll be with them this time next year. Pray that they'll all be strengthened by God's love, and Christ's promise of salvation to all who ask. My oldest cat-14 years old, Smokie, has bone cancer in his jaw. Most of his right mandible has been eaten away. It was swollen and sore a week ago and I took him into the vet today. Vet said there isn't much to do for him, just watch how he eats and his overall behaviors will tell us how he's doing. She said there is a surgery, they don't do it, to remove the affected bone area and replace it with steel. It's 1500$ at least and no guarantees of recovery or cure.
