Today starts the trial of the murderer of the granddaughter of a dear friend. She was killed by an on again, off again boyfriend, who claims that it was an accident. My friend and her family have not been dealing well with their sorrow and feelings of guilt that they did not know how dangerous this man was. I Remember hurricane Alicia Aug 18th 1983! Kemah, TX, USA Because Hurricane Ike seems to be on a similar course to Alicia I will tell you this story. Hello All, Prayer is powerful and that is why I'm asking for prayers for a coworker. Her daughter (only two weeks old) was in for a routine check up when the Dr. discovered a problem with the babies heart and immediatley sent her downtown to Lebonheur Childrens hospital. They are now in Philidelphia where the first of several surgeries (over the next 3 years) was performed yesterday to bypass the left side of her heart. Don't know the results of the surgery just yet but please pray for this precious little girl and for her Mother and Father.

The infection on Jim's right ankle flared up again about three weeks ago. They tried treating it with antibiotics but they had no effect. When Jim went in on Wednesday for followup visit and possibly a new prescription, they admitted him for tests and intravenous antibiotics. He was told that he would be there until at least Monday. They are not anticipating more surgery at this time.

  Prayer Request for my Mom From part deux | 08/05/2008 Last July 2007  the prayer warriors prayed for my Dad who sliced off a thumb. Well he is fine now, short half a thumb. Now my Mom is in need of prayers.# # #My Mom has been undergoing tests to determine blockage of the arteries. They found main artery blockage in the pelvic areas and they are looking next at the kidney this Friday, August 8 and more tests next week. My cousin Kevin and his wife Lane are experiencing simultaneous major medical problems. Lane has been caring for Kevin since one of his kidneys failed this spring, his condition has worsened and he has been diagnosed with a form of leukemia (Myelodysplasia with refractory anemia with excess blast) and now Lane has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Last month, my dad was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). The tumor was about the size of a golf ball. Last week, he found out that it was the papillary type (10-15% of kidney cancer) and that it had spread a bit into his lungs and a rib. They called them "flakes" so I guess it's not as bad as it could be. But still ... this is not what we were hoping for. I would be grateful for your prayers as I prepare to enter the hospital for the completion of my thyroidectomy this Tuesday. The operation is at 7:30 a.m. and I expect to be in the hospital until Wednesday afternoon. After that, I will have stitches in my throat until they are removed the following Tuesday morning.
