Obama the naive - (John Bolton)
latimes ^ | 6/5/08 | John Bolton

Posted on 06/05/2008 7:35:39 AM PDT by GeorgiaDawg32

Barack Obama's willingness to meet with the leaders of rogue states such as Iran and North Korea "without preconditions" is a naive and dangerous approach to dealing with the hard men who run pariah states. It will be an important and legitimate issue for policy debate during the remainder of the presidential campaign.

Consider his facile observations about President Kennedy's first meeting with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, in Vienna in 1961. Obama saw it as a meeting that helped win the Cold War, when in fact it was an embarrassment for the American side. The inexperienced Kennedy performed so poorly that Khrushchev may well have been encouraged to position Soviet missiles in Cuba in 1962, thus precipitating one of the Cold War's most dangerous crises.

As regards the war on terror and the war in Iraq, Obama can't grasp, or will fail to acknowledge, due to his own anti-American tunnel vision, any of the following points:

McCain called for an got a modification to the strategy...and it is clearly working.

Going into Iraq was no mistake. Look at a map. We have the largest state sponsor of terror hemmed in on three sides. Iran can not got to the bathroom without us knowing about it and being able to do something about it if the excretment or flatulence gets too close.

The terorists are hiding in holes, or dying when they come out and are unable to attack us here. They fear our remote controlled, unmanned predator aircraft, knowing that day or night they can see them and kill them with no chance whatsoever of martydom.

How is it less safe for us here to have the principle state sponsor of terror so hemmed in by our forces?

How is it less safe for us here to be developing two free, democratic republics in the middle east to the chagrin and spite of the totalitarian jihadists there, showing the people of the entire region that there is a hope for freedom?

How it is less safe for us here to have so shut down the terror network that gave us 911 that they have not been able to execute another terror attack on our soil since?

Any objective, common sense look at the geopolitical situation simply punctuates the success of the policy of taking this fight to this enemy...and McCain has improved it, not lessened or weakened it.

If things continue to go well, Obama will simply look more and more foolish in the face of continued success, and, OBTW, that is a success born of volunteers who reapply for service in large percentages who have been there, seen the enemy, defeated him, and know the importance of the mission.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

Funny thing I’ve never seen a presidential candidate get cut so much slack that he doesn’t get disqualified or severely criticized for making huge error and then recasting them not once but twice.

Obama got away with it on Trinity Church, Rev. Wright and this.

No one is holding him to anything he says. It’s like he gets a mulligan over and over.

The real world doesn’t work that way. In this case, I have to say I no longer believe what Bolton is saying here, that Obama is naive. I believe that Obama has a third world mentality. To him, the UN is a real option to see differences through, not a corrupt organization of mostly tinbit dictators who’s main if not sole interest is to preserve the modicum of acceptability they have in remaining in power by attaching their names to a nation state.

If you live in NYC and interact with folks, you are aware of this psychology. If you travel, you probably do as well.

The idea of a superpower, a power of any kind actually in the world is against their very internalized feelings of what is right.

In this psychology, one can look away from Darfur and Rhawanda while at the same time criticizing the US for applying any influence anywhere in any shape or form on world events.

This mentality would be troublesome but in the case of it coming from the Oval Office, it’s beyond worrisome. It’s deadly to our nation.

Obama needs to be called out and exposed to the American people. He said he’d debate McCain on the ME anytime, anywhere.

Well pony up you Obamination.

I’ve been saying those things for a long time.
By invading Iraq we not only denied alqaeda a future base but we have Iran surrounded.
There is no way we would have been able to invade Iran should we have to with Iraq still under Hussein.
I’m sure the two would have formed a pact against the great satan and that would have been a real mess.
The stockpiles of wmd would have been “found” and Iran would have no opposition in it’s efforts to build nukes.
Alqaeda greatly strengthened by Iraq would have been in position to effectively ratake Afghanistan.
Taking Iraq was a stroke of brilliance and necessity.
Taking Iraq also put the front lines in the living room of the enemy instead of over here.
It sapped our enemies resources in their efforts to get us out of their front yard with our weapons and intelligence gathering abilities and bases and all the other things that come along with a huge military presence that has a strangle hold on the enemies neck.

Bush’s Fine Speech, and Obama’s Fine Whine

President Bush Blasts Appeasers: Hussein ObamaMessiaHamas Campaign Goes Ballistic!

Hysterical Whiner, Hussein ObamaMeshiaHamas cries/moans and screams that Bush falsely accuses him of appeasement and whines, “I’m not an appeaser!”

Obama: "I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems, ....I will not weaponize space... I will slow development of future combat systems... I will institute a 'Defense Priorities Board' to ensure the quadrennial defense review is not used ..."

Then, there will be peace in our time without the evil republicans causing war!

My change is good for Muslims, Islamofascists, Black Racists, and Chrislims. $crew the Christians and real Jews!

Hussein ObamaHamasMessiahian on Memorial Day, 2008:

"As we landed at the local airport today, I had to run from the plane ducking Bosnian sniper bullets until I got into my bullet proof SUV. While running and ducking sniper bullets, I remembered my crazy uncle in the attic, who might have served in WWII."

It’s clear to me that Obama is very dangerous and the article is right on the about him. I was reading the responses to the article and I realize that was is clear to a reasonable person will be totally foreign to a typical democrat.

If McCain runs a reasonable race then a Regan type landslide is possible. IF not, then people with views like below will be controlling this country.

FROM ARTICLE’s COMMENTS:
29. How is Obama’s policy towards Iran connected with Mondale’s 1984 defeat by Reagan? This comment is nothing more than a mean-spirited stab at democrats. If anything, it should be McCain who should pay attention to history. In 1976, Gerald Ford narrowly lost his re-election bid solely due to his perceived connection with the previous Nixon administration. Ford lost to a very weak competitor in Jimmy Carter. Obama is a stronger candidate than Jimmy Carter. McCain is a weaker candidate than Ford. Bush is arguably as bad or worse than Nixon.
