OK The pollsters found in a survey that people said they’re cutting back. And that means what? One less trip to the supermarket each week? Yet when you look at the hard data, i.e. fuel sales, it hasn’t changed all that much. A few percentage points drop.

You can look at opinion polls, or you can look at data. I choose data. Perhaps more recent data will show a more significant drop in fuel sales, but I doubt it.

There are two slants to this so called addiction: 1. Addiction to oil 2. Addiction to foreign oil.

I've heard the do nothing congress use both versions.
