Collectively congress isn't smart enough to do this on purpose. An acquaintance of mine (now a supreme court justice of a midwestern state) is fond of saying, "Don't look for a conspiracy when incompetence will explain the situation."

Yes, every step they have taken since about the 1980’s in regards to oil, ANWR, refineries, nuclear power, energy. Did you read the most recent America’s Climate Security Act (S. 2191). If not then perhaps you should take the time to look over the 492 page legislation and tell me how they are proposing to deal with our energy needs. Every bit of it is intentional.

And don’t get me totally wrong, but the republicans are just as responsible as the democrats! They had their chance to change things and they didn’t or were not willing to fight for it. A few stand and crow, but none follow.
