FLINT, Mich. - Barack Obama says he is going to visit Iraq and Afghanistan before the November election.
The presumed Democratic presidential nominee said he spoke with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on Monday about the war and told him he looks forward to seeing him in Baghdad.
Obama has said before he was considering a trip, but his comment to reporters Monday was his first firm declaration that he will be making the trip. He said more details will be announced shortly.
He said he told Zebari that he was encouraged by the reductions of violence in Iraq, but that as president he will carefully move to end U.S. combat operations in Iraq.
Gee, I certainly hope nothing terrible like suicide bombers, IED’s, sniper fire, rocket attacks, plane crashes or tomato salmonella attacks and harms him while there. Same for his lovely, charming wife.

Maybe after he reviews and shores up the morale of his loyal forces there, he’ll stop in to see some American troops, too.

Well, he’s already been to Iraq.
I just have a hunch that his campaign is scared to death about his say something that's a deal breaker for most, and about his looking Dukakis-goofy in Any military uniform or hardware, so they many not show at all.
Either that, or they'll blow it off until they absolutely have no choice BUT to show up. That kind of thing.
Biraq, PBUH, please do your self a favor and go out and buy nd appropriate hijabs and turbans before you embark on your trip through Iraq and Afghanistan.
