Eaker was replying to a nasty post in the thread. A post that slammed another poster out of the blue so to speak. I don’t consider that *rude* but rather, honorable. As for rudeness and example-setting for one’s children, Eaker’s kids are blessed to have him for a Dad.
Isn’t it also rude to bring one’s children or parenting into a post that has nothing to do with said poster’s children or parenting?
Your thread was/is thought provoking. It’s the first I heard of this and it’s interesting to me.

That may be. But in reading his history of posts, if he talks to or in front of his children the way he talks to posters here, I'm not impressed. I grew up with a father like that and I'm glad to say that I didn't learn that trait from him.
I save my label of "honorable" to bigger issues than defending someone over their educational preferences. If you want to use that word though, that's fine, Twink. It was the decent thing to do, I would say. :~)
It most certainly was rude. He did not call the poster “out” for being a jerk, he libeled an entire group of people - most of which are good conservatives - with one of the more insidious stereotype accusations used by libs.
