Honor student suspended for 'noogie'

The youth and his lawyer Edward Paltzik say the charges are trumped up.
In fact, Paltzik insists that teacher Sharon Cantante, like Gilda Radner's Lisa Loopner on the old "Saturday Night Live" skit, didn't mind getting a few noogies from the boys.
"She had this very bizarre tendency to invite students to give her noogies," Paltzik claimed. "This teacher has a history of encouraging noogie behavior."
The teen is taking his case to the state Appellate Division. The Mirenberg camp showed a photo of the eighth-grade teacher smiling broadly while absorbing a male student's noogie.
The 39-year-old divorcee seems completely at ease while getting the knuckle rub.

When I saw it in high school, it was done by stronger kids to weaker kids as a a form of humiliation.That wasn't humiliation - that was motivation. A couple of noogies and some Charles Atlas lessons were all one needed, back in the day...

I do believe that if someone gave me a “noogie” when I was in Jr. High or High School, I would’ve kicked their ass 6 ways to Sunday.

I can see guys doing that to each other as a form of retaliation, but I’m a woman and if a gal would have tried a titty twister on me she’d have brought back nubs and missing a couple of teeth. Lol

A noogie is relatively harmless unless you really dig the knuckles in and scrape. When I was a kid, getting Indian burns, dutch rubs, pink bellies and (whats worse than a Texas tornado?) titty twisters regularly from the older kids. It was their way of letting us know where we stood in the pecking order. Then there was when someone would sit on your chest and let a nice big hocker drip down out of their mouth right over your face. Most of the time they would suck it back in. But sometimes you got it in the face.
