Your analysis maybe correct in many cases but I seem to run into quite a few Obama operatives that accidentally out themselves . Many of these McCain haters and RNC haters are irrational and self destructive seem to take real pleasure in a McCain or Repub media hit pieces. In many cases, they spread bold faced lies and odd conspiracy stories. For example, this McCain hit piece from the left wing British Reuters could be a misquote or the carefully twisted facts just like Reuters does to Bush and every Repubs but these posters believe every word and take enjoyment from it.

That's not inconsistent with my analysis, and I've noticed the same thing.
FR has always been fertile ground for trolls who sign up to criticize Republicans for not being conservative enough. It's the perfect cover. I'm familiar with enough of those critical of the GOP to know that that's genuinely what they are, but there are plenty more that I don't really know. The effect is to demoralize conservatives and allow liberals to win.
FR has pretty much reached the tipping point where new Republican supporters will no longer sign up because it's not the forum for them. This is quite different than what it was four or more years ago.
