Looks like ol' Jack is going to get disbarred. The Florida Bar only recommended a 10-year suspension, but the court overruled that and recommends lifetime disbarment. The icing on the cake is that Jack gets to pay for this proceeding that's recommending the punishment.
Couldn't have happened to a worse lawyer and human being.

Ah, fantastic news.
Unfortunately, this won't stop his insanity, only fuel it further.

I’ll be the ignorant one: who is Jack Thompson?

He’s a Florida lawyer that was a one time FReeper.
You have to go back a few years and look at some of his threads. He was interesting and amusing for a while, but his weirdness spun completely out of control.

Come on, as if this lawyer is any worse than any other.
They should all be drawn and quartered, or lowered into boiling fat, or burned at the stake, that works for me as well.
Thompson's problem is that he has gotten on the wrong side of the Socialists, he's lucky they can't line him up against a wall and shoot him.
Yet.
Fortunately, our time to pass out cigarettes and blindfolds is fast approaching.

Apparently he didn’t steal any money; just ruffled a lot of feathers, and sued the Florida Bar Association. The proposed punishment seems grossly excessive, and smells to me like a vendetta.

Was this the same guy that sued FR for banning him? Or was that another one of them lawyer fellers?

To: Hexenhammer
True, but without his bar license, he will have FAR less power to use the courts to infect his insanity upon others.

As an attorney, I take exception. After all, it isn’t fair that 99% of attorneys give the rest of us a bad reputation.
