WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, on Monday rejected a call by U.S. President George W. Bush to lift a moratorium on offshore oil drilling.

Bush announced on Monday that he lifted the executive branch's restriction on offshore exploration, saying only Congress stood in the way of opening up America's untapped oil riches.

Thanks. This was sent yesterday.

The whole nation is watching and it is apparent who the obstructionists
are.

35 years ago we had an oil embargo, what or who is causing that
embargo today? A handful of democrats with too much power and total
disregard for the security of the nation they were sworn to protect and
defend.

The gamesmenship being played right now is unacceptable. REASONABLE
proposals were brought to congress, only to be silenced. When they
were silenced you silenced We The People. That oil is not yours to play
with, it belongs to we the people.

You promised alternative energies 2 years ago. So, where is the
alternative energy plan that will move our nation forward? Where is it?

While you fiddle away trying to blame everyone else from the CEO’s to
the common peoples we see you. Calling us addicts doesn’t help,
calling you irresponsible with the power you were entrusted with does.

Oil can be brought online and available within 5 years or less if you
get out of the way. Passing the Gas and Petroleum Refiners Act, that
democrats have stalled in committee, will make it happen.

Lead, follow, or my best suggestion now...

GET OUT OF THE WAY and let Americans do what we do best...save our
Nation.

Having been raised to always fight back, to always punch back a little harder than the other guy (Old-School “Conflict Resolution”), I never, ever understand why “our” side doesn’t kick the Dems’ teeth in and put a boot in their “collective” asses when the opportunity presents itself. This is a perfect example.

We (Middle America) are being bled to death by a Demsocialist-controlled policy to stop American companies from drilling OUR oil on OUR off-shores...

“Our” party has a political lightning rod HANDED to them, and they muddle and mill about like brain-dead cattle, trying to figure out how the cow pattie landed where it did...

The definition of “peace” to the Socialists is “the absence of opposition to communist goals”. In other words, they are in a perpetual state of WAR with the rest of us. They are using LAW and ECONOMICS now instead of bullets; it’s easier to “rebuild” society when you don’t have to reconstruct the bombed buildings. You can always “re-educate” people’s kids, or launch a media campaign to demonize dissidents, call them “extremists” and “child molesters” and then kill them later off camera...

And “our” side just doesn’t get it. The DemComs hit us, again and again and again, and our side just says “STOP THAT!, Or I’ll SAY STOP THAT AGAIN!!!”

They’re either blind, ignorant, or tacitly complicit. I have no other explanation that I can think of.

And one more thing - who EXACTLY are these “environmental groups”... Faces? Names? Who are they? Where are they? We need to identify who they are, and they need to be held accountable. If they are standing in the way of American economic and energy independence, they need to be dealt with and removed.

“Nevada actually has it worse. 75% of their revenue depends on tourism and if people can’t afford to get there then they go bust.”

That’s what I was figuring - how can he reconcile this with the people from his own state?
Are they rebelling yet?
Haven’t they figured out what their own representative is doing to them?
Is there anyone in Nevada challenging him for the office?

We the People lost the diligence to act when necessary...30,50,80,100 yrs ago every commie-socialist-marxist that proposed the beginnings of the legislation shoulda been roped up and/or shot in short order...

'We' allowed the spawn to grow, now Fedzilla is too big to handle [as far as organized guns go] when we say 'stop'...they continue to say FU...MAKE us...

Hell that basically CWI...the organized resistence [w/o the pros and cons of reasons] was simply CRUSHED...at least since then there really hasnt beena jumping off point that individually we can see, lest we martyr ourselves...

So we wait for the knock on the door or the flashbangs thru the windows...

'our side' [conservative freedom desiring individuals] does 'get it'...those who would lead us [rin-o-p] are simply colluding with somewhat of a 'plausible deniablilty' that enriches themselves with enough power to toe the line...

with humans, its only gonna get worse til God rights the shipfor those who trust Him FIRST...its gonna suck, but 'we' will be okay with His decisions... LFOD...

As I have stated on other threads.......let the voters set term limits for this socialist trash !

Never re-elect any socialist seditious polidiot !

Send the message too the pandering polidiots or folks need to shut up and take what they deserve.

I hope Senator Reid realizes that without the infrastructure provided by oil, most of his state becomes a desert, unable to support enough people to make a state.

FR has taught me more than anything else, that we have a bunch of do nothing politicians running this country

I wish the dems would 'do nothing', and get out of the way of the people who are trying to make the country work. They seem to be doing their best to destroy the country, just to win an election. They may think it better to reign in hell than serve in heaven, but the rest of us have got to live here too.

The high price of fuel, according to a report on Fox News regarding the expansion proposal of the Las Vegas airport, is having a negative effect on the economy of Nevada as fewer people are able to drive and/or fly to gambling destinations there. I think it is past time for the people of Nevada to send an unequivicable message to members of Congress by voting Reid out of office for failure to work for his constituents.

Re: “Well, that’s one reason for kicking these libs out of office.”

If the dumb Republican leaders - who Never speak up - would only understand that using this issue would help them Keep their seats and also win even More seats.

But they won’t! They Never speak up! It’s too un-gentlemanlike! Even if they DO lose their shirts!

They won’t because they are making all the money and business connections and living the life of Riley.

I am not voting for one incumbent because they simply don’t care about the people.

You brought up a point which has eaten at me for the last 7 years. Every liberal I know, and many conservatives, call President Bush dumb. But Pres Bush beat the Democrats in both elections, is still getting bills passed in Congress and the Senate, and still gets countries like Iran and North Korea to shake like a leaf in the wind whenever he starts looking at them. He even got better scores in College than Gore or Kerry. So why in the world does everyone think he is “dumb”.

The $64,000 question is what could the envirowhacks possibly be bringing to the dem table to justify this much grief?? I mean, any normal person in Reid's positoin would have to tell them to screw off.

Drilling hasn't "failed"; it hasn't been PERMITTED for the last 30 years.

What HAS FAILED is the kumbayah **** approach of the dems which has now had thirty years in which to replace all of the evil Gaia-hateful technologies of the past with windmills and solar panels, and it hasn't happened.

The dems are clearly the ones locked into an ideological vise on this one and when you vote for them or even fail to vote for pubbies, you're telling the world that you want to pay more for gasoline, heating oil, and natural gas, and deserve to pay more.

Right now there are something like 40 large jet aircraft engines pumping propane gas back into the ground on the Alaska oil fields. Enough to heat many if not most of the homes in the US and the dems and their Ewhack constituents will not allow us to have it.

This is for the greater glory of Gaia and it is a form of idolatry. In fact there is nothing in the Old Testament to indicate that anybody ever sacraficed an entire nation to an idol, this is new.

Unless the GOP has decided to surrender to the Dems/Commies/Socialists, they can easily kick butt and take names in November through a get tough advertising campaign and collectively staying on message. Giving examples of the rats insane votes that have shut down drilling and exploration, it’s the dems that have caused the energy crisis! And the dems should get full blame for high gas prices we’re all paying today.

Note to GOP: Forget Iraq - it’s the gas prices, stoopid!
