Six men remain in the Scott County jail following what police call a brutal assault on a father trying to protect his daughter.
Shakopee police say as the crowd was leaving Valleyfair Amusement Park around midnight on the 4th of July, the victim's daughter was confronted by two men.
"The 12-year-old daughter was either touched or slapped in the buttocks area," Scott County Attorney Patrick Ciliberto said. "The father confronted (the men) by yelling at them for what they had done to his daughter," he added.
Police say the two men called their friends, who were also in the park. The group of seven men and a juvenile then confronted the father.
"They beat him to the ground and then, the evidence that we have, when he was on the ground, they used their feet on him. They were kicking him in the face when he was down," Ciliberto said.
According to the criminal complaints, the men were stomping on the 41-year-old father as he lay on the ground, unconscious.
He suffered severe head injuries, including a fractured right orbital bone and possible subdural bleeding on the brain. "We don't know if there are permanent injuries yet," the County Attorney said.
Shakopee Police found the suspects in the parking lot. Seven of them were arrested and one man ran from the scene and police are still looking for him. Of the seven taken into custody, one was a 14-year-old.
The six adults charged and held in jail are Devondre Evans-Lewis, Andrew Shannon, Darris Evans, Terry Arnold, Derry Evans, and Anthony Gildersleeve.
The Scott County Attorney says several of the men have criminal histories and they are all from the Twin Cities metro area. They range in age from 18 to 22-years-old.
All six adults have been charged with 3rd degree felony assault causing substantial bodily harm.

Lets just say 20 or 30 whites or hispanics (or whatever ethnic group the father was a member of—or even a mixed group) had went to the fathers aid, the HEADLINES would have screamed.
ANGRY MOB ATTACKS 8 YOUNG MEN AT THE PARK—HATE CRIME SUSPECTED......and the original story would have remained buried (for the most part)
That is where the REAL problem lies, what gets put out to the public.
Even this story took a couple of weeks to gain ‘national scrutiny’, had my scenario happened it would have LED all the stories for a week or so.....
At least until the ACTUAL CAUSE surfaced....
I do not know your race, TypeZoNegative, but since you live in MN; do you have any inkling as to the race of the victims of this crime?
Face it, you’re an apologist for thugs. No one here was saying that all black people are criminals, but it’s an inescapable fact that crimes committed by a pack are usually young black men.
I am not an apologist for thugs. I want the criminals that did this to be thrown under the jail. I have a beautiful 15 year old daughter ( thanks to my lovely white husband) and I can only imagine the horror they went through. My problem started when people started to make assumptions about this case based on the names of the perps (and possible race of the victims) and disparaging remarks about black people, diversity etc. based on the assumptions.
Perhaps I have become as cynical as some white people when it comes to racism. White people seem to think that racism against blacks in this country does not exist at all. So, perhaps there is no media bias when it comes to race either. If one asks a question about whether there is racism against black people in this country, the vast majority of y’all will deny, deny, deny... immediately talk about reverse discrimination and media bias etc. You can’t bring yourself to say white racism exists. But Lord knows everyone here seems to be trying to convince me that black people are just horrible. Well, I am black and proud and I know too many good black so I’m still not convinced.
You're really all over the map with this reply. Most would be happy to have a dialog with you if/when you are ready to listen and hone your points to ideas, as opposed to emotional non sequitur. Teens beat up bus driver in St. Paul

A Metro Transit bus driver was hospitalized after he was beaten by a group of teenagers Tuesday evening in downtown St. Paul. Metro Transit spokesman Bob Gibbons said the driver was assaulted by six to eight teenagers on Robert Street between 4th and 5th Streets as his bus was arriving downtown. Gibbons said the driver called the operations center at about 9:20 p.m. and asked for help because he had “a group of kids acting up on the bus.” He called back later a short time later to report that he had been attacked. The driver was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. The bus was on Route 68, which runs primarily on Robert Street south of downtown, Gibbons said. No arrests have been reported as of early today.
NOTE: I was just down at that Bus Stop last week during jury duty. I shook my head at the large number of teens around with nothing to do but get in trouble their whole lives.
It used to be that Scott County and the area south and east of Burnsville were pretty safe. Last time I was there, a hooded Muslim woman ran my credit card at the Holiday Inn at 42 and 35 and the shopping center was overrun with non English speakers. What are they doing in MN ?
A problem that is not properly named and identified cannot be solved. Crimes which involve a pack of men as the assailants are almost always young black men.
I think a useful saying concerning terrorism might shed light on some posters' feelings in this case. It's been said that "not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims." Of course, not every single terrorist is a Muslim, but the great majority of terrorists are. This also provides the truth that the majority of Muslims aren't terrorists.
This saying can be applied to this case: not all blacks commit violent pack crimes, but all violent pack crimes are committed by blacks.
Do you see what we're getting at yet? No one was castigating an entire race, but it is an inescapable FACT that this brand of criminal is almost always a young black man. Ignoring that FACT means that we're avoiding properly defining the problem, which, in turn, means that we're not getting closer to solving the problem.
Political correctness and the failure to label rampant black criminality don't do anyone of any race any favors.
A black family recently moved into an all-white neighborhood in the New Orleans suburbs. Someone burned KKK into their yard a few weeks later. Talk radio and the paper were all over the story, and a few hundred white people came out on a Saturday to re-sod the yard and say prayers, and apologize for the actions of one person.
How much do you want to bet that the black community of Minneapolis doesn't hold a fund raiser to cover this man's medical bills, or do anything at all to help this man's family heal? If anything the black community will blame the actions of Devondre and crew as being the fault of society. The black community won't "own" the problem the way the white community "owned" the problem in N.O. when someone burned KKK in a black family's yard.
So, tough shit if you can't handle people telling the truth about subhuman scum who grope girls and kick unconscious men in the head while their frieds wait their turn for a kick.

If you want to add something to the debate, try coming armed with something other than liberal platitudes, premises, and profanity. My experience is that Freeper's aren't scared off by these things like Joe Television. Also, most will listen to a cogent, researched, and eloquent reply [how many Freepers predict that this, out of all of the points I'm trying to make, will be the one cherry-picked in reply?]. Most cherish the classical tradition of rhetoric and dialogue.
You are in a unique situation to offer a distinct viewpoint. You squander this with bringing the banal points of a SPLC lackey. In order to do what I suggest, you'll have to work at it. If you cannot do this, then your "people" would be better served by your silence.
