Six men remain in the Scott County jail following what police call a brutal assault on a father trying to protect his daughter.
Shakopee police say as the crowd was leaving Valleyfair Amusement Park around midnight on the 4th of July, the victim's daughter was confronted by two men.
"The 12-year-old daughter was either touched or slapped in the buttocks area," Scott County Attorney Patrick Ciliberto said. "The father confronted (the men) by yelling at them for what they had done to his daughter," he added.
Police say the two men called their friends, who were also in the park. The group of seven men and a juvenile then confronted the father.
"They beat him to the ground and then, the evidence that we have, when he was on the ground, they used their feet on him. They were kicking him in the face when he was down," Ciliberto said.
According to the criminal complaints, the men were stomping on the 41-year-old father as he lay on the ground, unconscious.
He suffered severe head injuries, including a fractured right orbital bone and possible subdural bleeding on the brain. "We don't know if there are permanent injuries yet," the County Attorney said.
Shakopee Police found the suspects in the parking lot. Seven of them were arrested and one man ran from the scene and police are still looking for him. Of the seven taken into custody, one was a 14-year-old.
The six adults charged and held in jail are Devondre Evans-Lewis, Andrew Shannon, Darris Evans, Terry Arnold, Derry Evans, and Anthony Gildersleeve.
The Scott County Attorney says several of the men have criminal histories and they are all from the Twin Cities metro area. They range in age from 18 to 22-years-old.
All six adults have been charged with 3rd degree felony assault causing substantial bodily harm.
She pops up on these threads and calls everyone racists who correlate the crime with outrage of the likes of Sharpton and Jesse.
So this joker was dinged for a Felony on April 25th of this year and by the 4th of July he is out chillin with his buds (and probably recruiting new girls) at the local amusement park?

That was my impression as well. The father didn't start a fight with a gang, he just yelled at two guys when one of them groped his 12 year old daughter's butt. I don't know if I would have had the restraint to only yell at them.
If someone groped my daughter's butt in the middle of a public amusement park, it would never occur to me to stop and think, "Gee, I'd better not say anything or this guy might call a bunch of his friends on his cell phone."
Tell you one thing though — you can tell that little girl it had nothing to do with race. You might even get her to agree with you. But she’ll never trust blacks deep down. And so it continues.
Why is it that because I don’t believe this is a race issue, but a crime issue, I’m supposed to be deluded. When the story broke about the young lady suing Nascar for racial discrimination alot of FR had no sympathy, some even went as far as to question the young lady’s story. I love to Freep, but I know which threads are going to piss me off eventually, because every closet racist crawls out of the woodwork.
This is the best case for a high capacity pistol magazine, 9mm or better.
Kudos to the dad for standing his ground against the barbarians. Too bad he didn’t put 3 bullets into each one.
At Jena, the blacks did a similar thing and managed to spin and twist, and ginn it up into a race riot.
Rather than confront the playful yoots, dad should have offered them his daughter as a gesture of peace. Instead he learned the hard way about disrespecting a gentleman who simply showed appreciation of his daughters beauty. It was all just a misunderstanding really. Dad needs to undergo sensitivity and diversity training (after he gets out of the hospital).

Is the little girl was white? If she was a black girl assaulted by black men, should she hate black men for the rest of her life? Hypothetically, if she were a white girl and the perps were white, should she had all white people for the rest of her life?
Well, it’s not like they killed him or anything, they just stomped his a—.
We don’t know anything about the victim (or his daughter). They may have been white or black. Since at least one of the perps was a pimp, it’s not at all unlikely that he was feeling up all the young girls, asking if they wanted to make some money, etc. Either way they are thugs and should be in the slammer, ESPECIALLY since some are already convicted felons. Whoever set their bail should be held personally responsible for any and all of their actions between now and trial. Any of them being out is beyond offensive.
I really don't see it as a race issue, but as a media issue. The media loves to divide on the issue of race--as long as they can portray it one way. Let a white person commit an act of violence upon a black person and the media will go berserk and every talk show will have a "dialog on race."
But, let a black person commit a violent crime on a white person and the media ignores it.
It is not racist to point out that simple fact.
