If you take a good hard look at what has happened to the GOP, just understand the huge numbers of Conservatives who refuse to support them any longer.

We are simply fed up with being force fed this Moderate to Liberal platform the GOP has adopted in order to appeal to the so called Middle America. Well, Middle America is very much to the Left/Socialism and is headed there as fast as it can. McCain is very much a part of that effort.

WE simply draw the line, right here, right now. No compromise or sugar coating will change that. And we are doing it in record numbers.

Does anyone know why we don’t have official FR polls any more? I keep scrolling down to the bottom, hoping one will be there, but it never is.

While this may not disqualify FDT, it's got to be difficult for McCain... In an age where imagery is almost everything (unfortunately), this would be hard to push forward

I like the McCain / Romney dynamic. Remember that McCain said that his pick would represent the future of the Republican Party.

Here's a larger pic

Does anyone else see this as a potential problem for McCain?

“I've asked the Mods to run a poll repeatedly and haven't heard anything back...”

Maybe they can't stand McQueeg either.

Hunter (strong on everything Conservative, might keep McQueeg from givng amnesty))

Palin (female, hot daughters to watch grow up, will change McQueeg mind about Alaska)

Romney (I voted for him in Texas primary after Hunter dropped out and a vote against McQueeg, looks presidential)

Ann Coulter without a doubt! She’d have so much fun throwing grenades, and it would be so fun to watch....no, she’ll never take the pay cut.
OK, Fred Thompson it is. He has enough sense (and sense of humor) to know that 98% of peolple in D.C. are clowns and should be treated as such.

“VP choices mean nothing.”

You got that right. Who cares? The Veep’s the guy who stands next to the gun carriage pretending to hold the horses’ reigns.
John Nance Garner once described the office of the vice presidency as being “not worth a bucket of warm piss.”

Who was John Nance Garner?
John Nance Garner IV nicknamed “Cactus Jack” (November 22, 1868 – November 7, 1967) was the forty-fourth Speaker of the United States House of Representatives (1931-33) and, yes.....
the thirty-second Vice President of the United States (1933-41).

1st choice, Romney.

Romney as the VP candidate would make it as least somewhat palatable to have to vote for McCain.

And in the process, helping make H a 2 term President... Any idea how much damage an H, with a complicit MSM and cowering-in-fear-so-as-to-not-be-labeled-as-rac GOP congress can inflict in 8 years???

Palin, she would be a good conservative but would she help bring in other voters maybe..maybe not. She would definitely get conservatives out.

Romney, He is the only one who might get a state like Michigan, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania to go McCain but I think there are lots of people who won’t vote for him because he’s not really conservative and there are some people out there who will have a problem with him being a Mormon.

Sanford and Jindal, good conservatives but what do they bring other than getting conservatives to come out and vote

My preference would be in this order
1-Palin
2-Romney
3-Jindal
4-Sanford
5-Watts

Bottom line I think is that McCain is going to have a make a choice on whether he thinks there are enough moderates to win out there. There may be and he may think that he can win them even if conservatives stay home.

Not only is he a strong, principled conservative, he’s also an appealing candidate and a good campaigner. If there had been an honest election in MD, he’d be a Senator now.

Romney would make sense to me. However, we’re talking about John McCain so who knows. He’s the first candidate to have no need for a base.
