McCain has a new smear ad out accusing Obama of snubbing injured troops because he couldn't take cameras along to visit them. That smear is gonna sting. If that label sticks, the Democrats could have another candidate like John Kerry on their hands, someone who people think has disdain for the military. That could sink Obama's ship.
There is something he could do, of course, to head off this mounting criticism and to counter John McCain's promise that he is always there for the troops. Name Chet Edwards his running mate.
Chet Edwards, the chairman of the Veterans Affairs committee, is very popular among the military. He could bridge the patriotism gap for an Obama campaign.
Last week, I offered Five Reasons Why Obama Should Choose Chet Edwards, and this week I am wondering if it's not only a good choice, but a political necessity.

But to answer the question, YES, the marxist hates the military.
Does Obama hate the military?
Does a bear dump in the woods?
Does a dog have a butt?
Is Helen Ready?
....naturally he hates the military....his kind don’t serve and don’t understand real men.
Smear? Just the facts, mam, just the facts.
If you have to ask the question you haven’t been paying attention.
Just keep in mind:
Hypothetical question and Republican: question always the bad answer
Hypothetical question and Democrat: question always the good answer
I was in the Military and I wouldn’t know a Chet Edwards from a John Edwards....if it wasn’t for that fabulous silky hair....
ALL LIBERALS hate the military. Heck, they don’t even like to count their ballots—just ask Al Gore.
He hates the US military and it’s servicemen...
EXCEPT when they’re black and from other countries.
Chet Edwards, regrettably my Congress critter, is a dimpled phony who gets elected because he graduated from Texas A&M (the Aggies are a cult) and because he lies about being a “conservative” every two years.
He voted with Nancy Pelosi every chance he got the past two year, including her date-to-surrencer bills.
Of course, it would be great not to have him as my representative, so that would be the upside to this story.
He voted with Nancy Pelosi every chance he got the past two years, including voting for her date-to-surrender bills.
(It helps to put your glasses on before you type.)
“Does Obama hate the military?”
Sure he does...why else would he want this national security force (brownshirts) that is as big, as well funded and as powerful as the military?
All you have to do to answer the question is look at his actions in Berlin. Did he visit the military hospital in Karlsruhe, or go to his rock concert and speech?
Since you asked....
This comment from a US Marine, does not go along with what we saw on

Glad I’m no longer in the military. I’d have not EVER saluted Clinton, whilst I’d have no choice but to give Obama the one-fingered salute. I have absolutely no respect for most of our congress critters, seeing that few - if any - could come even close to having either the academic or the intellectual qualifications for doing what I had the privilege of doing during my career.
Muslims hate the “White Man’s” Army in their 7th century mentality.
I doubt if Obumb0 could have made it through basic training anyway.
Obumbo enjoys doing the lying, while our troops are doing dying.
Just Words,
NSNR
Or fast Eddie Rendell. Who made sure he got every indicted, but not yet convicted criminal to vote for Kerry, but wasn't going to extend the deadline for Pennsylvania soldiers to mail in their ballots from Iraq and Afghanistan after Pennsylvania sent new ballots and invalidated the previous ones.
Hate may be too strong of a word, but he is, without a doubt not comfortable being around those in uniform. He knows the men and women in uniform can see through his BS.
This is a rhetorical question.
Anyone else have a very hard time visualizing Obama stepping of the Presidential Helicopter turning and giving the Marine a smart and snappy salute? I just cant see it.
