Posted on 07/31/2008 7:29:51 AM PDT by flyfree

Thirty percent (30%) of conservative Democrats say they’re voting for John McCain. Rasmussen Reports data also shows the Republican hopeful picking up support from 19% of White Democrats and 15% of Democrats over the age of 50. These results are from national telephone survey interviews conducted with 14,000 Likely Voters during the two weeks ending July 24. The sample includes 5,074 Democratic voters.

The data shows that 43% of Democrats consider themselves politically liberal, 37% say they’re moderate, and 18% are conservative.

Forty-one percent (41%) of conservative Democrats have a favorable opinion of John McCain. Sixty-seven percent (67%) say the same about Obama.

If Sen McCain chooses correctly, he can Win BIG
as a very large fraction of the pro-Hillary frustrated Democrat women
crossover in each of the 50 states.

Overall, there are twice as many uncommitted voters at this point in Election 2008 as there were four years ago. An analysis released yesterday showed that there are more Democrats than Republicans in the uncommitted category, but that they are leaning more towards McCain than Obama.

Good.

The left is trying to smear this woman.

Looks like she should be the choice for veep, if the left fears and loathes her.

30% of the 18% of Democrats that say they are conservative.

.3 * .18 * about 1/2 of the voters = a nearly 3% gain for McCain & loss for Obama.

This could be HUGH! That’s a 6 point swing in McCain’s direction.

John McCain is a Democrat, but he's no conservative. What's wrong with these people?

The two major candidates in the race are a moderate Democrat running as a Republican and a Marxist-Socialist running as a Democrat.

The data shows that 43% of Democrats consider themselves politically liberal, 37% say they’re moderate, and 18% are conservative.

So in other words, approximately 6% of Democrats will vote for McCain. What percentage of Republicans will stay home, rather than vote for a pro-CFR first amendment-infringing, environmental wacko who is promising to raise social security taxes yet still has the chutzpah to call himself a Republican?

“Poor McCain would be down 20% if Hillary was in this....”

Hildebutch would beat the socks off McCain. The Clintons would find a way to win even if they lost LOL.

Normally the polls show a trend but in Obama’s case I think the high numbers wont reflect the ballot box.

This could be HUGH! That’s a 6 point swing in McCain’s direction.

Only if you assume that every single last registered Democrat voted for John Kerry and Al Gore, which is obviously false. I haven't looked at the stats, but a 6% swing seems a little low by historical standards.

Not necessarily good for McCain. The closer it gets to an election, the more likely Democrats are to go back to their program. They usually tend to vote for the Democrat with a D rather than the R when given a choice.
