Imagine youre running for president. Do you:
A: Tell people they dont know what theyre talking about, the economy is fine. Elect me and Ill keep things how they are!
B: Empathize, throw the current administration under the bus, (since theyre done anyway), and try to get elected?
How about:
C: Quit telling people what they want to hear, quit running to the left and mouthing off how what a good populist you are and have some principles and talk about what IS working and provide conservative/libertarian solutions (re: small government) to the pressing problems of the day.

The RNC needs to see the level of discontent out here.Monday I received a solicitaion from McCain's campaign with a pre-paid envelope. I filled out the form stating I'll not contribute one dime to a candidate who favors amnesty for illegal-aliens, and believes anthropological global warming to be a threat to the World. I also told them I'd not be voting for President this fall. It's been returned.

“And when we have 20,000,000 new McCitizens through McAmnesty, how high will that number be?”
Pick your poison. How much better will it be with Obama? And how many new muslim citizens to add to the mix?

McCain’s ad is the truth. Bush-Frist-Hastert and the democratic Congress that came after those bumbs were thrown out have driven this country into the dirt.
Are we really going to defend those idiots just because they have an (R) by their name when they have been just as bad as the ones with a (D) by their name.
This week with the Republican revolt in the house is the first time I’ve been proud of any republican since before that fat corupt pig Hastert took over.

I agree, while I understand why people are voting against Obama, if McCain wins, this will be a very short lived victory.
Once McCain starts to be McCain, the real wailing and gnashing of teeth will begin. Their will be nothing anyone can so about it. Either way it turns out, it will be a Democrat victory this time. Learn to love cap and trade, manmade ALgore global warming, shamenesty. It is going to happen.
Whatever conservatism is now will be identified with a false conservative and will go by the wayside. Not that it matters, millions more 3rd worlders here will guarantee us a one party system.

Setting aside the Bush versus McCain aspect. I think most conservatives
would agree. Washington DC is broken and the GOP has been asleep
at the wheel for quite some time.
Generally, I'm in the same camp.
I respect Dubya for keeping the country safe and a swift response
after 9-11.
And staying the course in Iraq, even though I thought we'd be
better off if he'd just ham-strung Iraq and do a domestic
"Manhattan Project" for affordable energy.
And his stance in favor of ILLEGAL immigrants is maddening.
But lots needs to change in the GOP.
About the only thing that gives me hope now is Sen. Tom Coburn
(R, OK) and the others that have stood with him the last couple
of weeks over the issue of energy (and requiring debate before
the passage of bills).

Not worth flaming about. I just want to have a note here, so when you come to FR complaining about Obamas new taxes to support reparations, I can refer to this post. Fair enough. Allow me to leave my own note:

Washingtons broken. John McCain knows it, the ad says.
Yeh, John, and you have been in Washington 26 years helping break it.

there are a lot of problems with mccain. he doesn’t pretend to be a real conservative. Our problem is that those who do turned out to be a bunch of dolts.
Conservatives have a bad rep right now and until they get their act together, we’re only going to have more mccains and other rinos.

When you run out of ideas, or you panic, you normally go back to what you know best.
For the last 15 years what John McCain know best is fragging the GOP.
Do you expect anything else?
Just because he's better than Obomba still doesn't mean he's any good.

Bush has been far from perfect, but McCain would do better pointing a worse off finger at Democrats and libs in the Republican Party. But he can't. Because he'd be pointing the finger at himself. That would give the Obama campaign alot of ammunition. McCain will continue to bash the President, who is an unpopular easy target and win points with liberals and Republicans who are unhappy with Bush.
To: null and void
Good comeback. The saddest thing for Americans is that we’re saddled with two pathetic candiates and one of them is going to end up being president.

McCain was not my guy, not even in the top half of my list. Still, he's vastly better than The Chosen One, IMHO.
This will be a change election. We will not succeed in convincing people times are good, not with $4 a gallon gas and a stock market in the dumps.
McCain has to run against the status quo to have a chance, as would any Republican. He has to pull off a Sarkozy, run against his own party.

I have been a registered Independent for some time now so no longer receive Republican correspondence. My best friend was telling me she received the same thing the other day. She wrote him a nice little note that said....there is no way I can afford to contribute since I am paying $4 for gas and groceries have gone through the roof. My PG&E is going to be cutoff soon as I cannot afford the $600 mnthly bill. Sorry but it seems most of my monies are going to support illegal aliens and their anchor babies. Contact me after all this is fixed and I may have a dime left to send you.
I told her....good job!
She is bitter.

I think it is great that McCain is starting to seperate himself from George W. Bush, the biggest spender in American History.
I know there is blind loyalty to Bush here, but he did seriously damage the dollar with his refusal to veto any legislation in his first 6 years.
Go, Johnny , Go!
