“Those girls if aged 16 are doctored up to keep them from maturing. No breast or hip development.”

Female gymnasts often fail to hit puberty until they are done with the sport because of how rigorous it is. It stunts you.

“I’m sure watching the Chinese gymnastics team is quite stimulating, for pedophiles.”

It is a sick pervs dream. Twelve year olds who have the body of eight year olds in makeup with skimpy clothes showing off how flexible they are. I felt dirty just watching it.

You are in a city with a large Chinese-American population. The girls you see are taller and heavier than their counterparts in China. The Viet kids here, when they go back to VN for a visit, are identified by the locals immediately as Viet Kieu (expats) because they are taller and bulkier than the locals. Unless you have long been close with the Chinese population in SF you likely cannot estimate age of females below 40 and above 2 very well at all.It is easier with boys once they hit puberty.

All that said, I have no doubt that the Chinese government is using underage girls for gymnastics. It is one sport where the peak seems to be at a very young age for girls and Chinese, being of Communist persuasion, have no sense of fair play or following rules. They are only concerned with what gets the most glory and demonstrates Socialist and Chinese "superiority."

No breast or hip development.

That is a much smaller problem among Chinese in China than it is among Americans (including Chinese/Amercans) who eat an American diet.

I know even American raised Viet girls who, at 16 look 10 to round eyes. They are small and their bodies do not change shape so much as Caucasian bodies. Those raised in America tend to be shaped a bit more like Americans but some still look like preteens well into high school.

Bet that one girl does not have her third molars yet (They usually erupt at age 12.)

Purist as with the Soviets (all national varieties) pawning off male contestants in the women’s games. Communist China is quite capable of the same sort of shenanigans and likely to use whatever gets gold. The propaganda value of winning trumps all other considerations.

Yes. The Olympics is a picture of Sport but, as with a movie, the sportsmen, especially of countries to which winning is a “showcase” of ideological or national superiority, the parts are all played by actors with scripts, maybe even with stunt doubles.

Aren't the Olympics supposed to be the purist form of sports? Will cheating in sports ever end?

I'm not really paying that much attention to the Olympics this year. I lost interest way back when they started the gymnastic event - dancing around the mat with a ribbon. However, the above remarks caught my eye. Is the author that niave? The Olympics - for decades - have always been about politics and cheating. The 1936 Berlin Olympics was nothing but a power show for the Nazis. And then you have the Russians and East Germans during the 60's and 70's. Does anyone remember the scorring cards - U.S. - 8.5, Great Britan - 8, Italy - 8.5, East Germany - 4. Does anyone remember the Soviets cheating us on the court in the 72 Olympics? The raised fist by the black athletes in Mexico in 68? Munich?

These two stories: American’s made mistakes and Chinese child labor..

Doping is under serious international oversite and underage athletes should be too. Dental X-Rays can quickly determine age.

Lotsa old Chinese look young. Some simply are young.

My daughter got the same treatment until she was past 30 and she is 100% Euro-American background. She also never got taller than 4’10” and stayed slim. Ironically she was completely gray haired by age 24 (but dyed her hair from age 14 when she got her first noticeable gray).

You seem to have a very narrow range of experience there. The people in your world must be limited to those with round eyes and western diet.

100% Euro-American background

same with me and ditto the gray hair. I started dying my hair when someone called me Q-Tip. Still skinny and don’t look my age - 57. Much younger people assume they are older than me and that causes PROBLEMS. The good thing is, I’m in better shape than my comtemporaries. The bad thing is, if I hadn’t started smoking at 16 - to assume the personae of someone older - I would probably look about 27.

I think the reference is to Americans who look at Chinese and don’t see Euro-American physiques and then insist that Asian body types are illegitimate. Nothing in versé’s comment speaks “Left” but might be from someone with an East Asian heritage.

You reckon? I would be interested in your interpretation of this, then, from Post #35:

>> And if indeed, China steals all “your” patents, I would hope you do not perpetuate this “stealing” and use or advocate only “your” type of products. Thanks

It is beyond serious dispute that ChiCom has no respect for the intellectual property of others.

So verse1 follows that by hoping that we don’t make the ChiCom keep stealing Intellectual Property by us using or advocating only “our” types of products? Like it’s our fault that the ChiCom are a pack of thieves?

You don’t see that as being Left? I see it as being ChiCom apologist. Stealing Intellectual Property is not a Conservative value at all.

Or perhaps you see it differently?
