I have been reading for some time about Barack Hussein Obama's birth certificate controversy. At first I dismissed it because I thought there was no way the Democratic Party would allow someone who is not qualified to run for the office of President.
I now understand that at least half of the state attorney generals in the country will challenge Obama’s residency before certifying his nomination. Lawsuits will be filed to clarify Obama’s birth in the United States.
Until today I simply believed that Obama was born in Hawaii. After doing some research I found it is not so clear cut. Obama may have been born in Canada or even Kenya. The birth certificate he has provided as proof of live birth is flawed. The first one his election team provided had no certification seal. The second had the seal and fold marks.
There is also a "Barrack Hussein Mohamed Obama" born on 23 August 1961 in Canada -- which is where people are saying Obama was really born -- not Hawaii.
The Kenya rumor is one I cannot find anything on. At the time of Obama’s birth, his pregnant mother would have had a hard time getting all the immunizations needed to enter Kenya. So I don't believe this rumor is valid.
I do believe the Obama campaign may have a big surprise come nomination day.
My question here in the "No Bull Zone" -- have any of you heard anything on this topic? As I have said, I am really not sure, but there is smoke surrounding this topic and the Obama campaign had been extremely secretive about this issue. Could he have been born in Canada? Is the Hawaii birth certificate real, even though but it has no seal or signature. What say you? I am on the fence on this one.

Now a Canadian birth, in August of 1961, is not at all out of the realm of the possible; remember, we know that Stanley Ann Dunham and the newborn Barry Jr had surfaced in Seattle, Washington, at the very beginning of 1962, already alone and abandoned by the birth father [presumably Barack Hussein Obama Sr]:

Beyond that, it's not much more difficult to imagine that Stanley Ann Dunham might have wanted to cross over into Canada to give birth to her child:

3) The whole mess was further complicated by the question of whether the 24-year-old Barack Hussein Obama Sr might have committed statutory rape when he engaged in coitus with the [presumably] 17-year-old Stanley Ann Dunham, back in November of 1960.
And for anyone who wonders about the importance of a Canadian birth: If one of the parents was a foreigner, and if the birth took place on foreign soil, then the child is not eligible for American birth citizenship unless the American birth parent had lived in the United States, as an American citizen, and AS AN ADULT, for five years.
But Stanley Ann Dunham was only 18, not 23, when Barack Jr was born, and so, if it was a Canadian birth, then Barack Jr does not qualify for American birth citizenship, and is constitutionally ineligible to assume the presidency [unless maybe the birth was on "American soil", in Canada, such as on the grounds of the American embassy - do they deliver babies at the embassy?].
We need to make sure this isn’t true, because if he is disqualified thaen Hillary will get the nod.
After the Convention... once the Dems buy the ticket.. they’ll have to take the ride.

What bothers me is if he was born in Hawaii, why doesn’t he just get a copy of his birth certificate? They keep them, don’t they??

Yeah, this popped up after the first time Hussein refused to produce his birth certificate. If true, I would like to see the BC pop into the press just after the Dems finish partying about him taking the nomination. McCain wins.

Why doesn’t Obama just authorize the Secretaries of States to access the State of Hawaii Birth Records to verify that a valid certificate exists?
I have the feeling Stanley Ann and her parents withheld a lot of vital information from her son. Typical white folks.
It is hard in 2008 to remember what it was like in 1961 for a young woman to have a child out of wedlock. It is unlikely she ever thught the circumstances of his birth would become relevant on the national and world stage.
However, it is a fun development given the way so many Obama folks wanted to disqualify McCain because he was born in a US military hospital in Panama.

And if Barack Jr was born on American soil [not Canadian or Kenyan or Japanese soil], then the new HIPAA legislation would make it a felony for a hospital worker to release the hospital records of his birth without a court order.
If this proves true then the Democrats will need to annex Canada, or at least British Columbia, before inauguration day. Can’t he retroactively be a natural born citizen if the location where he was born is now a part of the USA?

yes. The first universal healthcare act covering all canadian provinces was passed in 1957. Some provinces had free healthcare as early as 1946. It was compulsory for all provinces to provide it by 1961.

As to his other assertion that at least 25 states have challenges ready should Obama be nominated...not so sure about that either.
If I had to guess, and that’s all this is...Obama was born in Hawaii and after his mother returned from there she got him a birth cert in Canada for some cockamamie political reason of her own. Perhaps some anti-authoritarian impulse led her to construct an alternate identity for him, thus the different date.
Or hey, maybe she was a bigger goof than we realize, and she wanted a Virgo instead of a Leo.

And --- so right now, where is Barack Obama? Well, supposedly "vacationing" in Hawaii. Probably to make sure the "right" birth certificate is offered for proof of his birth there.
If this whole fiasco about Barack not being a natural citizen of the U.S. is true I do hope it is exposed just hours after the convention. Can you imagine the Democrat scramble, err...should I say shuffle.

Show me the Canadian birth certificate. Show me that it states that Stanley Ann Dunham Obama is the mother, etc. etc.
If this were true it would be the scandal of the century and would guarantee the reporter who dug it up the celebrity of Woodward and Bernstein and the Pulitzer Prize. Which is a mighty big inducement for some up and coming reporter to poke around.

Before the convention, they'll just put Hillary on. After the convention, I would guess that Obama's VP pick might top the ticket.
But the Dems can hedge their bets all the way up to November. We have an electoral system. On election day, you don't really vote for Obama or McCain. You vote for ELECTORS who are PLEDGED to Obama or McCain. If, the day after the election, Obama wins but is found ineligible, and in response he instructs his pledged electors to cast their electoral ballots for Louis Farrakhan, then Louis is the next Pres of the US

What happens if Obama wins the election and after he is sworn in, it is learned that he was born on foreign soil and therefore ineligible for election? I think that there would be a Constitutional crisis which would make the 2000 Florida situation look like child’s play. Since Obama and his VP ran as a ticket and not individually, I would guess that the VP couldn’t be sworn in as President because his/her election was not legitimate, either. The scariest part of this scenario would be that the highest undisputed elected official (according the succession order) would the be the Speaker of the House.
