The real story is Kristol floating rumors, where the rumors came from, and why they where floated.

It’s better this way: Powell catches Kristol peddling somebody’s filthy lie and rubs his nose in it.

Priceless.

"He doesn't have experience at the senior levels of national government. But I've seen other individuals who have come along that didn't have that breadth of experience," said the former top official under President George W. Bush.

I am not sure this counts a a strong attack against Senator Obama's level of experience.

My paraphrase was a little off on the other thread. I heard it on the local news, posted that, then went and found the source article (this one)..

Could McCain be possibly tabbing Powell for his VP pick? And someone on the D side heard about it, and was trying to float rumors that Powell was going to endorse Barry Hussein just to trump, or at least soil the thought of McCain picking Powell?

A McCain/Powell ticket would be hard to beat. Not my cup of tea, but would be a solid ticket nationally.

Considering that Powell has financially supported McCain to the max allowed level, one of my first guesses was that this was floated to get Powell in the headlines before he endorsed McCain.. it would get all the Obama cult excited then bam, Mac.

Maybe getting the denial and the diss to Obama was the whole point of Kristol’s report.

The complete quote is:

"Rebuffing a key line of attack by Obama's critics, Powell told ABC in April: "He didn't have a lot of experience in running a presidential campaign, did he? But he seems to know how to organize the task.

"He doesn't have experience at the senior levels of national government. But I've seen other individuals who have come along that didn't have that breadth of experience," said the former top official under President George W. Bush. "

There is plenty of room to endorse Obama. What he denies specifically is that he will go to either convention.

Colin Powell: from the horse's mouth.

Bill Kristol: from the horse's rear end.

A McCain/Powell ticket would be hard to beat. Not my cup of tea, but would be a solid ticket nationally.

I would have a lot of problems with that ticket, but I could live with it for four years if it meant keeping Barack out of the Oval Office.

Neither McCain nor Powell would want to run in 2012. Then we could get a solid Conservative voted into office.
