A federally funded research project has described how surgeons were able to snatch the hearts from severely brain-damaged newborns only seconds after they were disconnected from life-support units and transplant the organs into other diseased infants, but the work is raising alarms from those who say the donors weren't dead yet.
The work was documented in a report in the New England Journal of Medicine today, which in an unusual move also published a series of commentaries about the study that offered harsh criticism.
"It is impossible to transplant a heart successfully after irreversible stoppage: if a heart is restarted, the person from whom it was taken cannot have been dead according to cardiac criteria. Removing organs from a patient whose heart not only can be restarted, but also has been or will be restarted in another body, is ending a life by organ removal," wrote Dr. Robert Veatch, professor of medical ethics at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University.

I have signed up as an organ donor, and I have made it very plain to my family that if I am mostly dead and will never recover it is perfectly ok for the surgeons to take whatever organs they can use, while they are still usable.
For this very reason, I have NOT signed up as an organ donor. But I have made it very clear to my husband that I do want to be a donor. But I want HIM to make that decision. I do not want any doctors being too quick with the knife! I figure with modern technology he can be by my bedside within hours no matter where he is... I’ve read to many stories where bad things happen.
Follow the money. Organ transplants are $100,000+++, often paid by insurance. There is too much motivation to “help things out a little”.
Don’t believe me? How does an abortion doctor keep doing what he does??
What the article is saying is that when the organ is removed, the patient that it is removed from must be ALIVE. The only organ that does not require the patient to be ALIVE when the organ is removed is the eye (Cornea)!
Even if you sign up a a donor, your next of kin must still be informed and can deny any donation. Nobody can just take your stuff without consent. Check your state regulations on donation and informed consent. There is a definite order of precedence, spouse, parent, adult child, sibling, etc,. as to who can authorize consent. Always make your wishes known to your loved ones, write them down! Tell your health care provider.
It is coming to the point that if you have money, you can jump to the head of the line for a transplant (unofficially, of course...). If you are not signed up to be a donor, that won't stop the god-playing doctors who think their agenda overrules your wishes. Fraud abounds. Our overseas "friends" are getting into the racket too, as well as US-based slimeballs who are putting on the mask.
There were several sci-fi/horror movies and TV sci-fi shows that touch on these themes (Coma for example). If you research, you will find that they are not far from the truth. It's for that reason that I have instructed my family in no way, shape, or form that any of my organs are to be donated. I will not let some medical hack make money off the few working parts I have left.
A few years ago I talked with a research person just introing into fetal tissue research at a major university in the South for a job while in pre-med. The lab where this person worked received wet ice deliveries from abortuaries in Al., N.C., and Georgia, sometimes whole 'fetuses' arrived on ice, to be dissected for parts used in various research studies. This person was astonished at how 'fresh' were the whole aborted babies. I was told, though I have no confirmation of this to date, that a 'fetus' arrived on one occasion so fresh from the abortuary that when taken from the ice the heart was still beating, albeit ever so feeble in contraction. The interviewee resigned from the research program shortly thereafter and has now finished medical residency as a GP in another state (in fact, in another region entirely so disgusted and nauseated was this brilliant young person).
Evil saunters about the land, no longer bashful to display its power over we the people's negligence. Incrimentalism ushers in all manner of disgusting vileness, and we the people refocus upon the bread and circuses and let the evil pass unopposed, too busy to be bothered.
"We've come for your liver"...

I suppose that is one advantage to Socialized Medicine, like what we have here in New Zealand. Organ transplants are undertaken on the basis of need and availability. No amount of money can purchase an organ for transplant in NZ.
The downside to this is that very, very few transplants take place here — a situation not helped by stone-age cultural taboos.
Throw my brain in a hurricane
And the blind can have my eyes
And the deaf can take both of my ears
If they don't mind the size
Give my stomach to Milwaukee
If they run out of beer
Put my socks in a cedar box
Just get "em" out of here
Ugh, that is plain gruesome—EVIL.
Yes, THAT is what evil looks like being ‘lived out’ in our nation, the level of evil that Obama cannot seem to recognize since he lacks the Spirit of discernment.
