Severe Weather Oregon Coast
Vanity

Posted on 08/18/2008 12:49:34 AM PDT by Global2010

It has been lightning and thunder since 7am.

The Emerg radio is in action all day.

I called my vendor to see if it was wise to put on the p.m. mist and O2 for KV and he brushed me off.

So I called the local non emerg. Fire Dept and they said if your gut says no go with it..

Folks we are being hit with Lightning and thunder and no 1 elephant counts.

The local FD said that they had a hit in one substation and all I could think was to say I CAN PRAY we have NO STRIKES..we live in a rain forrest but very dry now...

The emerg radio has not stopped and the worst of the storm is going to hit in 30 min....

PRAY...I am sure U Arizona Freepers R use to this.

Good News My sinus headache went away...I thought we were going to have an earthquake I was so Quik ded out not non stop thunder and lightning...

My son the KV is bored the 3 cold nose lab crew are huddled with me on my twim bed.....

Weather warning for 60 mile wind and huge hail in the next now 15min.

The lightning and thunderbumps are now non stop...

I have been here over two decades.. this is not fun and really not nice.

Yall in Portland are enjoying 100 plus heat...

It is very different here on the coast and it does not smell like pee like in the Pearl Dist.

Your safe but this is some scary wierd Coast weather. They pulled in the F/V early on today.

Wow sounds pretty dramatic. I'm here in southern Lane County and it's kinda blah. Humid, hint of breeze and mild temp. Soft rumblings from time to time in the distance.

My weather report says crazy rain etc hitting mid week. What part of Oregon coast are you in? Maybe I've got something to look forward to since it's too dang hot to sleep again tonight.

I’m here in Benton County (in the Willamette Valley)...

We had some beautiful thunder storms yesterday. Plenty of lightning tonight too, but no where near as bad as you are reporting. Its certainly calmed down here now. Only about 60F, lots of wind and not much rain to speak of.

Prayers up for Lincoln County! God bless!

Have you experience thunder and lightning before in summer?

I have...beautiful but fires are a concern.

Let’s get you a weather forecast.

Put in your zip code here (don’t tell us what it is) and check your forecast.

I'm outside of Cottage Grove, in the hills. Haven't heard any thunder in the last 10 minutes. I'm just a temp here in Oregon so I'm not real good on locations but I think I'm straight inland (more or less) from you.

Hope you have a quiet peaceful night and the puppies settle down.

I had no idea that it was sooooo hot and humid here in the Willamette valley. Can't wait to get back home to the Puget Sound.

Actually we had some lightning here in Portland last night - my dog, who always sleeps in my bedroom, went downstairs to spend the night. I had left my bedroom windows open so maybe she was smart.

Good luck tonight.

My heart is with you. Here in the Rogue Valley we had a little lightening yesterday and the day before. Nothing bad yet, but I’ve been through bad before. I lived in Cave Junction during the lightening caused Biscuit Fire. I’ll keep you and the fur babies in my prayers.
