The general view is that Tiberius was allowed to govern by
the sovereign God. Since God had allowed Tiberius to rule
(by not striking him down). Therefore Tiberius, although
he didn’t know it was under the authority of the living God.

Perhaps you remember when Pilate told Christ that he had
the power to release him. Christ replied that Pilate would
not have any power unless it was granted to him by God.
So the viewpoint was that God has power overall and even ordains
men to have their rules, but God is the final judge.

Therefore, render unto Caesar what is Caesars’, and unto
God, what is Gods’.

Our commission is to go into all the world and spread the Gospel. Period.

Even into Saudi Arabia? Are people dying trying to smuggle Bibles in to that country?

“Consider trying to govern 1/5th the earth’s population as America does. It cannot be done.”

Consider what you just said. That oppression is the only way to govern. What communist state do you work for?

Let me share this information with all you guys and gals here! I have been doing missionary work for about 10 years now. And I have one very close elderly friend that is a missionary for China. And let me say, that you never try to attempt to sneak in bibles thru your luggage, at the airport, especially while the olymipcs is going on? Just not using wisdom!

The Bible also says that if a government is not following God’s law they are to be condemned.

I think you are very incorrect in that. The Bible speaks to individuals not governments. While there is such a thing as an unrighteous government, pretty much every government right now, the Bible clearly tells us to submit to authority of the government, as it is God ultimately in control of who is in government.

It is not Biblical to turn away from God because the govt hates Christianity.

That is true, but here again your heading is a bit scary. If you understand the submission issue correctly, there is no call to "go off" on the authority's as a faith based life can be lived alongside any government.

Under Chinese law, it is illegal to bring printed religious material...

That is where this guy is going wrong, he is not subjecting himself to authority. And he is openly breaking the law. This is not setting a good example to the people around him about Christianity is it. I suspect he will now learn the difference between the unrighteous USA with its liberal ideas and abortion on demand and the unrighteous China with its communist ideas, and its demanded abortions.

He is used to getting away with pushing government figures around from living in such a benevolent environment like the USA and is setting himself up for a real education about the evils of man. He is breaking the law, and will pay for that transgression. If it was not for the olympics, he would not have gotten near as far with this as he has. He would simply be sitting in a cold dark cell somewhere.

If the Olympics weren’t happening, this story would be buried (possibly along with the members).

“Consider trying to govern 1/5th the earth’s population as America does. It cannot be done.”

An utterly absurd assertion that has no basis in fact.

Furthermore, even if it were true, the moral solution would be to break it up into small nations. Not to turn

I’m not incorrect. God does not direct us to support evil governments.

“If you understand the submission issue correctly, there is no call to “go off” on the authority’s as a faith based life can be lived alongside any government.”

yeah right, what about those govts that make it illegal to be Christian? The ones that kill Christians? Should we support those governments as they seek to kill our brethren?

Alongside does not mean support. Often it means laying low for survival sake.

But if your church wants to declare war on governments, you will find willing partners in Islam. It is after all what they are all about.

But I bet you do not go to church.

I'll ask you the same question - why do you love oppressive Commie governments so much?

Huge strawman argument. The type of government has nothing to do with this. If you want to do something illegal, you are free to do so, but don't complain when you get caught. Obviously these guys knew what they were doing was illegal or they wouldn't have been going about it the way they did.

To put it another way... If you want to buy a milling machine and make machineguns in your basement, have fun.... just don't complain when the ATF comes knocking on your door.

Oh you mean Gods great commission.

“But if your church wants to declare war on governments, you will find willing partners in Islam. It is after all what they are all about”

Who said declare war on governments?? And now you’re comparing me to islam because I want to comply with my Gods direction. You are quite the offensive person.

“But I bet you do not go to church.”

LOL - we’re talking about spreading Gods word in defiance of those who seek to stop it. I’m for spreading Gods word and you are for hiding in fear by not stepping outside of your ‘church’ and you accuse me of that?
