What type of VP gets McCain the most votes: Pro-choice or Pro-life?

Moderates are used to the GOP being pro-life. McCain appeals to them on other issues. So that's fine.

A pro-choice VP pick could be a real deal breaker for a lot of conservatives given McCains age. A pro-choice VP would be an extraordinarily BAD idea.
