If it’s Romney, McCain will get money from me for the first time.

-------------------------------------------------------

If it's Romney, I will not vote Republican for President for the first time. I've been voting Republican since Reagan.

Romney is not a great leader. He is a flip-flopping RINO. I cannot vote for someone who was, very recently, pro-abortion.

I will only vote for McCain if his VP is a consistent, reliable social conservative. That is not Romney.

Yes, it was stated more than once. Why don’t you ask the poster? He/she posted it, not me. Again, do not lump with me with someone else unless I respond.

There are really only two, possibly three that would help as VP:

1. Palin
2. Romney

I hope it is Palin. But Romney would be a strong pick.

What I meant to say was one “poster,” not post. Again, you are overstating your case.

Elsie's pic (which is fringe) was in reply to my post of a simple picture of Mr. McCain and Mr. Romney together. What's was the point?

I like Mitt. Who do you want McCain to choose for VP?

Along with the previously mentioned conservatives, Ann Coulter favors Mitt as VP. Who do you want as VP?

"He is a true gentlemen and a class-act."

So what are you...an emotionless cheerleader for this group? Tell me...did you stand on the sidelines in Mass with a "GOP" shirt on and cheer every time Romney ok'd leftist homosexual/gun control/abortion legislation? Just curious.

“Mitt Romney is pro-life.”

Well, this week he is, anyways.

Mitt Romney had the second most liberal record of any of the GOP presidential candidates, with only Rudy being more liberal. Sure, Romney has spent the past 2 or 3 years claiming to be pro-life, but he campaigned as a firmly pro-abortion candidate as recently as the 2002 gubernatorial elections and for the most part governed as a pro-abortion executive (with the one exception of opposing human cloning for embryonic stem-cell research-—but he has said that he has no problem with embryonic stem-cell research that kills embryos that weren’t cloned).

McCain’s pro-embryonic-stem-cell-research vote did not endear him to pro-lifers, and he needs to pick someone whose pro-life bona fides are even stronger than his own, and that ain’t Romney.

Wow, yeah I remember it now. It was a campaign slogan.

Vote For Mitt Romney because he has a “FACE of an AMERICAN”!

Note to Jim Robinson. We have spell check. Can we have a goofy thought check before posting?

This sucks. He’s such a fraud and won’t help McCain’s chances at all. Why would you pick the candidate with the highest negatives of any candidate in the primaries. McCain never fails to amaze me with his stupidity.

For some reason Democrats are scared of Romney - and also wanted his to lose during the primaries. Ann Coulter and Tancredo endorsed Romney - that is a plus. I doubt though that the VP will make much different as long as it is safe choice.

Whoa! Hold on, my FRiend!

This is the McCain Ping list - and two GOP sources saying John has picked his Veep is news worthy of a ping.

This is a McCain list - not a Romney list - but whomever the Veep is (in this case, Mitt Romney is rumored) is relevant McCain news, more than worthy of a McCain list ping.

I didn't much like hearing that Lieberman and Ridge are being considered, but if credible sources said one of them was the pick, I'd expect a ping.

Tennessee Nana, you are opposed to Romney because?

So I was wrong about the FDL or FLS scandal was a month after Romney dropped out, but just think IF the Reverend Wright’s and Obama’s church of Black LIberation Theology had come to light at the same time Romney was running for President. Although the MSM tries to quell discussion of that even now, they had to acknowledge it was pretty disgusting to be so anti American, and to believe all church members are all victims of all whites- theology.

I didn’t say it was anyone’s fault Romney didn’t have the numbers at that point in history to continue on, but just pointing out that sequence of events has profound impact on current thinking. Do you think Obama would have even been put up for President if the Russians had gone into Georgia a year or so ago? I think not. I am pro-life, of Christian beliefs but not a particular church and I find Mormons to be highly successful people, self-starters and self-reliant and yet, have big hearts and pockets for the needy. What’s wrong with that, in case being a Mormon is your issue.

He was amazingly successful going in at the last minute to the Winter olympics and straighteneing out our own home-grown corruption and show-casing a wonderful Winter olympics.

Is it the fact that he’s wealthy that bothers you? He spent his own millions-not taxpayers-because he is a leader and felt he could and will if he’s named be a leader.

He always has been highly successful academically both undergraduate, and Harvard Law, battled the leftest liberals in taxachusetts, and successful in business. As far as I’m concerned he’s the MOST QUALified of anyone who has run in this election cycle.

I don't care who others may support. Ann Coulter’s betrayal of conservatism is noted and it doesn't help her case. McCain should choose a conservative as VP. Not a liberal. The aforementioned Tom Coburn, Mark Sanford and Eric Cantor are three good choices. No Lieberman, Giuliani or Romney.

Well, this week he is, anyways.

You know, I wonder why pro-life individuals and organizations spend so much time trying to convince everyone, including elected officials (like a Massachusetts Governor), that the lives of unborn children should be protected, that abortion is wrong, etc. What's the point if we're just going to condemn anyway anyone who has ever held a position or done anything that wasn't 100% pro-life? The 100-percenters who condemn Romney because there are a few things in his record that weren't optimum for the pro-life cause set a precedent which discourages any elected official from changing their mind on the subject. If those who do change their minds are still punished for their past, then why change their mind? I can assure you that the pro-death industry (Planned Parenthood, etc.) welcomes with open arms anyone who changes their mind in their direction and can provide far better campaign funding than pro-lifers can. Being as unforgiving on this subject is a recipe for the continuance and expansion of the current pro-death culture.

"Governor Romney has a record of action in defending life. Every decision he made as Governor was on the side of life. Tear him apart on what basis? If they are going after the veep then he’s doing his job.

If it has to be explained to you at this point, it's pointless.

No true conservative can possibly be happy with a Romney pick. Only personality cultists and the duped.
