Sorry for the Vanity but I have a great concern.
It's been a good summer for McCain. The ads are good, the American public is starting to learn more about the "real" B. Hussein Obama and he's dropping in the polls. That's the good news.
I think that on a level playing field, Mac can beat B. Hussein. But, has anyone thought about the strategy of the scheme to text Obama supporters and notify them of the VEEP selection. He now has hundreds of thousands of cell phone numbers. Visualize, on Election Day, a gazillion Text Messages going out over America: "Don't forget to vote today and take a friend". That's quite a data base.
Need some input and help from some of you high-tech FReepers: How can the Mac Campaign offset that advantage?
I’m thinking if not Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, he’d be well served to choose Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson of Texas as his VEEP.
The scorch-tongued Biden would not dare be crude, rude and insulting to a lady in the Debate; it would be political suicide. And, Kay can hold her own in a gentle way, seasoned with the charm of a Southern Belle.
YOU GO BOY!!!
By becoming Truthers?
The broken Promise. “O” promised his internet followers FIRST info on his VP.
Promise BROKEN; the MEDIA BROKE THE STORY. He’d told the Secret Service B4 he sent that e-mail.
And you’re worried about being out maneuvered techologically! :)
He was probably required to do it. However, folks at DU and DailyKos are not at all happy about it.
How do you counter it? You do the same thing but with more emails and cellphone numbers.
Sending a mass hit to cellphones and devices is simple programming. You need a number of machines queueing it up or else a method for delaying the send but it is simple computer coding.
However, you can’t counter McCain’s ignorance of the web and that is the major problem. He should just take his buggy down to the post office and mail out his ‘vote for me’ envelopes. McCain is about as distant from today’s world as you can get and he doesn’t seem to be in a race to embrace it. Why burden him with technology when he chooses to ignore it?
Obama did something that no other POTUS candidate did: he introduced the web into the delivery in a big way. No one will care that the Biden story was broken by this or that media outlet and they won’t care about the SMS text cost: they are part of a different way of campaigning.
No, I won’t receive it since I didn’t subscribe but give the man his due: it is different, cheap, and modern. McCain won’t do it that way because McCain is stuck in the mud and always will be. Bob Dole part deux but without the flamboyance.
McCain won’t win but Obama will lose. We then get 4 years of a POTUS who doesn’t use email and has no idea what the internet is. Lovely. Can’t wait to see what he ‘agrees to’.
McCain has children and aides to do computer work.

P.S. to 31. Does anyone think Obama programmed the “announcement” text msg? He can do emails msgs w/Hollywood starlet but I doubt he is into any computer work more complicated.
Hire skywriters all over the country. LOL.

Maybe the MSM will scoop him again on Election day and mention that it’s election day.
I think you’re on to something.
Also, although they should have, many people will not have realized that they put themselves on a spam list to top all spam lists.
Finally, I wonder how many people actually signed up for this in the first place.
This was sold as a “see how hip I am to technology and I really want to reach out and touch all my supporters” slobberfest when it will quickly become obvious it was just a way to graze for personal contact info.
Skywriters? All over the counry?
With John McCain’s luck, two of them would crash, one of them would be destroyed on the ground by an F-4, and the one over Washington, DC would run into a surface-to-air missle.
LOL
(sorry...I couldn’t resist...I really do love John McCain)
