He made the right decision in shooting the dogs. In this dark day and age, wild dogs are considered more valuable than children. It’s good to see that some will stand up for the kids.
He could have just called the police and said that his neighbor was a drug dealer. The cops would have shown up and shot the dogs for him.
Exactly.
good fences make good neighbors
He made a mistake not shooting the 2nd on his property.
That may haunt him.
Shaylen?
The heck he did. That bastard was looking for trouble. I don't buy the SOB's story for a second. You conveniently missed the part where he threatened to kill the dogs. Had my neighbor done that to my dogs, in my yard or his, he'd find himself on the receiving end of some bullets.
Exactly what he should have done, unless the dogs were an immediate threat to him or his daughter.
You betcha. The upthread comments about drug dealers might have been appropriate.
IBTPBA.................
It’s on MY PROPERTY, it’s a DEAD DOG...................
There is no way to tell what was really going on from a news article. I’m making a wild guess.
Good for him. If people want to keep their pets, they need to keep them on their property. We live in a more-or-less rural area, and it’s frustrating how several homeowners let their semi-feral dogs wander free. I have 3 children under 6, and there’s a good chance something like this could happen with me sometime. I’m not going to take any chances with my kids.
He warned the dog owners, and they apparently didn't heed the warning.
Good thing they are mourning the loss of mere dogs rather than their neighbor mourning the loss of a child mauled to death.
About fifteen years ago I had to pop two neighbor’s dogs for the same reason. they came right up to my door and killed my children’s pet kitten and terified my other neighbor’s child.
The owner of the dogs was very irate and threatened me for years. He called the law who did nothing because I also filed a police report. The other neighbor was thankful the dogs were dead and made it clear to the dog owner that they approved my actions.
If I found his pit bull in my yard after having warned him once ... I'd put them down too. The pit bull owner was totally irresponsible.
Two pit bulls wander into my yard ? They’re dead.
Had my neighbor done that to my dogs, in my yard or his...............................................................................................So, you think it is OK for your dogs to venture onto others fenced property. Any stray in my fenced backyard will get the same treatment if I think my family or my pets are threatened.
Dogs on the prowl, especially pit bulls, should be fair game. Unfortunately this poor soul still has to live next door to these people after shooting their dogs. Trouble ahead!
