Giuliani: Palin More Qualified Than Obama
cbsnews.com ^ | August 31, 2008

(CBS) Speaking on Face The Nation Sunday, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani said that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was announced Friday as presumptive GOP nominee John McCain’s running mate, is more qualified to be president than Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“You know why? She had to make decisions,” Giuliani told Face The Nation anchor Bob Schieffer. “All Senator Obama has had to do is talk. That's all he does.”

Palin, who is 44 years old, has been the governor of Alaska for less than two years. Previously, she served two terms as mayor of the town of Wasilla, Alaska, whose population in 2000 was 5,470.

Citing her executive experience, the Republican National Convention keynote speaker called Palin “somebody of accomplishment” because “she's vetoed legislation, she's taken on corruption, and in her party, and won. She took on the oil companies and won. She administered a budget successfully.”

He also said Obama “is the least experienced candidate for president in the last 100 years.

The NoBambi camp stepped in it & on it all over again with their blunder on highlighting Palins executive experience.

It's right out of Fiorello LaGuardia's playbook from 1933 to 1945. Attack, attack, attack. Never let up. If the enemy says something stupid, use it as an enema.

Good work, Rudy.

I watched it - Rudy and Joe both did a nice job. This article misses another great point Rudy made. After saying Obama was the least qualified in 100 years, he said everyone understands that’s why he needed to pick somebody who could help him do the job. Everybody knows McCain is ready now, so he could look to the future instead of to the past.

Good stuff.

I heard this interview on the radio and Rudy was laughing in the host’s face. Really ridiculing the idea that she is unqualified on the basis of experience.

Rudy speaks the plain truth.

Also Sarah has a son in the U.S. Army, while Barry has a pal who tried to blow up the U.S. Capitol.

Thanks Rudy! We conservatives appreciate you standing up for her. McCain may even have a place in his administration for you, which I think would be a great idea.

Rudy is a shade too liberal for me in general, but he can run a bureacracy very very well. He would be great heading up one of those infernal “Ministry of ... whatever” bureaucracies in the national goobermint. How about Rudy head up the EPA?

Rudy Rocks. Sure he may be too liberal for my tastes on many issues, but the man is a patriot, loves his country, and can put the left it its place with ease.

I think Rudy wants to be the Gov of NY, but I can see him being a good AG.

Homeland Security would be the most ideal on all counts.

I am waiting for the McCain stating that now Obama has TWO speeches. That is all he is— talk. He has never DONE anything.

This is my favorite Palin accomplishment:

"Palin was the point guard and captain for the Wasilla High School Warriors when they won the Alaska basketball championship in 1982; she earned the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" because of her intense play. She played the championship game despite a stress fracture in her ankle, hitting the winning free throw in the final seconds."

Let's hear about Obama's basketball heroics.
