The daughter of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar.

Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of people on a North Side street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at an officer, police said.

.

Thanks potlatch

They opened the door by attacking a 17 year old girl

Now we see that Joseph Robinette Biden’s adult family (watch the media plug in “young &/or children”) have rap sheets for criminal activities.....

Who vetted Biden and was it a proper vetting? Send this over to A. Colmes right away! He’s become very interested in how vice presidents are vetted. At least in this election. Don’t remember all the fuss when Al Gore was vetted. Or John Kerry or their running mates. Reminder to self: call Joe Lieberman and see how he was vetted. And Dick Cheney.

I disagree that the article and my points are part of the politics of personal destruction. But hey, we agree the MSM sucks out loud, so that’s something?

That’s just wrong. Don’t try to make it seem like “class” is a negative. Class is crucial. Government reflects it’s society’s civilization, and I want my government to reflect the class I know we are capable of bringing to this campaign.

This is not about being fair or unfair to the candidate, who thrust himself into the political arena. This is about whether it is right to treat private citizens like public figures. Just as the candidate cannot always control his/ her family, the family cannot control the candidate.

We need to be focusing on Obama’s past connections, his paltry record, his failure to challenge the corruption in the Chicago machine, his real estate scandal and his racist associations. We have not hit those issues adequately. Do we really want to carve out precious time to haul out some insignificant ancient dirt on Obama’s VP candidate’s daughter? This is a distraction we cannot afford.

Let’s let Gov. Palin be able to look into the cameras during the debates and take the high road on this issue. We can really hurt her if we act like jerks.

I disagree that the article and my points are part of the politics of personal destruction.

Nah, I'm not accusing you or the article of that. Anyway, I doubt we're going to see any members of the GOP try and use this incident against Biden, if for no other reason than they know this isn't going to get any traction with voters.

But your points about the media are spot on- they're already ramping up the slime machine in order to make Plain look like an irresponsible mother (which they would never have the guts to try with a Democratic female candidate- the Harpies at NOW would descend on them and strip their flesh right to the bone). I think it's going to lead to a backlash, though, especially among working women.

I think the McCain campaign should keep doing what it's doing- remain above this type of thing and continue to present a dignified, Presidential aura to the public.

Obviously Joe’s going home each night to be with his family didn’t help with keeping his kids out of trouble. Maybe he should have stayed home with all those kids instead of pursuing a 36+ year political career.

Senator's daughter apologizes to police

Chicago Tribune - October 30, 2002

The daughter of a U.S. senator and two of her friends were cleared Tuesday of criminal charges stemming from a fracas with Chicago police after they apologized to the officers.

Obstruction charges were dropped against Ashley Biden , 21, a college student in New Orleans and the daughter of Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.), officials said. Battery charges were dropped against John Kaulentis, 24, of Deerfield, and Kelly Donohoe, 21, of Lake Forest, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office. The three were arrested after an August incident outside a nightclub on West Division Street. Jerry Lawrence, a spokesman for the state's attorney's office, said the case was dropped in exchange for a public apology in Misdemeanor Court.

“...Senator Biden, your daughter was arrested in Chicago in 2002 comitting a crime...is that morally equivalent to a 17 year old daughter getting pregnant?....oh and Gov. Palin same question.”

Wouldn’t that be great if that question could be/would be asked?

Try going out to Trolley Square when you’re the daughter of a U.S. senator. Ashley Biden, 26, says she has been faced with scrutiny her whole life, but instead of retreating into a shell, she’s directed her energy toward helping people. Biden is a job developer with the Delaware Department of Children, Youth and their Families, where she lobbies businesses and corporations to find positions for kids on release from juvenile detention centers. “I believe it takes only one person to believe in you to get you where you need to be,” she says.

“Sen. Biden’s spokeswoman, Margaret Aitken, declined to comment, calling it a private, family matter.”

Same as they tried to claim Gore's kid's trouble was a "private family matter," conveniently ignoring that while pregnancy IS a private matter, according to every liberal woman, CRIME, breaking the law is not private, but a public matter.

I don't know about these Bidens. We are seeing more than enough noise out there over Joe drinking a bit much and a bit too often. Now his daughter has an altercation outside of a bar. Not sure I want someone who can't hold their liquor being next in line for the presidency.

"5 Deferments Biden— don't hear too much about that from the lib media..."

Yeah, five deferments for asthma. Compare that with Navy Seal Michael Monsoor, who suffered from asthma as a child, worked and trained hard to strengthen his lungs, just so he could become a Navy Seal. He not only achieved his life-long dream, but he gave his life so that his fellow Seals would live, and was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously.

Take your 5 deferments, and your phony tale and shove them up your butt Joe.
