Today on the way home on the Yellow Line in the D.C. Metro, a man began to talk quietly, but so everyone else can hear. "George Bush. Five separate cocaine convictions. He should be arrested..." and so on for a while.
I responded, loudly, "That's not true."
He said, "He has five driver's licenses and five cocaine convictions."
I replied, "Give me proof. Give me names, dates, places, and charges. Give me documents. I'm tired of this constant lying. George Bush might not be an articulate speaker, and he has made some poor personnel choices, but he's not a monster and he's not a criminal!"
The man then asked, "Are you going to let me talk?"
I said, "Yes. But every time you tell a lie I'm going to rebut you. Loudly."
He said, "If you're not going to let me talk, I'm going." And he got off at the next stop.
Fellow Americans, I am tired of lies for the sake of gain, whether it be for money or for political power. I'm tired of good people having their names dragged through the mud, and I will fight the lies with civil -- albeit loud -- discourse.
When we confront the liars, they back off. Only the most shameless ones continue. They are the most dangerous; they are in office.

This whole cocaine propaganda has me scratching my head. There has never been any proof of this offered. Yet, Obama admitted to his use and said he was high the last two years of high school in his book and he seems to get a pass from the idiots on the left.

Bravo!
I am now in Ft Lauderdale but used to ride the red line, Dupont Square to Silver Spring every day. I applaud you for standing up to liars. I am not sure that I would have had the courage to do it unless an armed officer was standing next to me.
