Well, I don't see Ted Olson out there attempting to "apologize" for the clip. Please don't insult our intelligence. His sickening, patronizing, "apology" for the 9/11 footage exposes an ungodly degree of hubris.

And where did you get the information the Olbermann and Olson were actually friends...?? And no, sharing an elevator together at the NBC studios doesn't count.

I think the morbid lack of respect came from Olberman, and that the FReeper was entirely justified in satirizing Olberman's exploitative commentary. Newsmen are supposed to report facts, not continuously monitor the responses of viewers. He was blatantly inappropriate and self-inflated to use his position as a newscaster to comment editorially on the convention.
