I live right on the Hayward fault so I’m surprised that I didn’t feel anything but I might have been walking upstairs at the time. Sitting at the computer I might have felt it.

Will Nancy Pelosi be turned into a pillar of salt while SF is destroyed?

Nah, she's already coprolite (old petrified dung).

Thanks .. guess I’m gonna have to get some geography lessons on the area so I don’t panic everytime I hear about a quake in the SF area .. but she DID live in Japan for two years, so can handle it (better than I for sure).

She probably didn’t get a chance to feel it. If my monitor hadn’t wiggled I may not have noticed it and I’m about 25 miles west of it. PA is about 35 miles southwest of it and mostly on hard rock so shock waves don’t propagate as well.

A magnitude 4 earthquake doesn’t have much of an area, usually just a good jolt up to 6 or 10 miles from epicenter. Magnitude 4.5 you start seing broken wine bottles at grocery stores a few miles from the epicenter. 5.0 can cause a real mess, stuff coming down off walls, TVs coming off of stands, etc. With a 5.5 you get some property damage near epicenter, cracked chimneys and other damage mostly to glass and masonry, 6+ you are talking real damage and some injuries.

The question is, how much of HIS dinner (second course, as he's already been fed (there is a pecking order...)) am I allowed to eat?

Happened in Alamo off the Calaveras, about 10 miles north of me I live in Dublin at the county line. A jolt and then 4-5 seconds of rumbling. Happened right at 9 PM. My bobble heads were all shaking.

My brother and his wife were in a movie theater in Walnut Creek and everyone stood up to run, but then it stopped.

4.0 pretty small. Try living in Humboldt County. When it shook up there, WOW!! 6-7. When I talk about earthquakes here in Arizona, people look at me in wonder.

“Or visit her!”

Oh, I am planning on it !!!!! Back in my working days I had several trips to SF, just a beautiful city, and loved to take road trips tu Carmel/Monterey, or up to Napa, over to Yosemite ... but never went to Palo Alto .. so that’s something new to look forward to. Oh, yeah, and seeing the daughter ;)

Felt it in San Francisco (Outer Richmond district.) It was no big deal. I was talking to someone in San Jose on the phone at the time and they didn't really feel it at all.
