ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sen. Barack Obama's foes seized Sunday upon a brief slip of the tongue, when the Democratic presidential nominee was outlining his Christianity but accidentally said, "my Muslim faith."
The three words - immediately corrected - were during an exchange with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on This Week, when he was trying to criticize the quiet smear campaign suggesting he is a Muslim.
But illustrating the difficulty of preventing false rumors about his faith from spreading, anti-Obama groups within one hour of the interview had sliced it out of context and were sending it around via email. They also were blogging about it.

But such gaffe's are not a good sign in a candidate for President.

When he uses the phrase “my Muslim faith” there is no facial signal that would indicate he is being sarcastic and he doesn’t make finger quotation marks. This is a phrase that pre-existed in his subconscious and just surfaced spontaneously, as if triggered by a mental association. This from someone who thinks the muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth.”
Verdict: CLOSET MUSLIM
You haven’t actually listened to the entire interview, have you? You have no clue what Obama said when correcting Stephanapolis’ “your Christian faith” correction, do you? Because you don’t, you are making a silly mistake.
And once again, you have made a factless accusation against me. Point out the number of the reply where I said that Obama didn’t say ‘my Muslim faith’. Show me the quote. You won’t be able to do that because you are lying about it.
You have no clue that the big deal of the interview is NOT that Obama made any admissions or slip about his ‘Muslim faith”, but that Stephanapolis forced him to admit that he was wrong to accuse McCain of accusing him of “Muslim connections”.
Obama actually admitted he was wrong. And what do you and some others here want to key on? The silly thing about a slip of the tongue. You’re majoring in the minors, man.
It looks like a straight news story, not an editorial. Also, it was published by the Washington Times, which is supposedly on our side.

Good point -- that is the important news and needs to be trumpeted and also kept on the list of Obama's false claims and L-I-E-S.
Did you just stop listening at that point, or did you hear Obama turn right around and correct George? Did you hear what he said? It’s much more important than any slip of the tongue in that interview.
It makes clear that McCain's opponent is a slimy snake both verbally and personally.
It is said that the devil is purposely deceptive and confuses. This is exactly what has happened here and why people are seeing very different things.
But the Holy spirit knows and it knows this man is without true conviction to Jesus Christ. If nothing else that is made clear. The man has no clear conviction to the tenets of Christianity, nor to the God of Christianity.
My soul would never allow me to say and own a faith that is not Christ even when making a logical point. Maybe only someone who is filled with the Holy Spirit would know this.
