I think the last minute DWI story is what made it close.

"Last minute DWI" was 2000. Lousy first debate was 2004.

“In the new poll, taken Friday through Sunday, McCain leads Obama by 54%-44% among those seen as most likely to vote. The survey of 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/— 3 points for both samples.”

Note how far down this was buried in the story. That’s BIG news and should have been the header.

FWIW, until McCain picked Palin, I was planning on voting for Bob Barr, but I’ll now be voting for Palin. She even flipped my more liberal wife.

He is going on Letterman this week. Bet he already has the questions...

Poor Barack Unibama: If he somehow wins this election, and our enemies face off against him, he ain't gonna have any andvanced knowledge of it. He won't know how to handle our enemies.

I would really love to see the polling done by the Obama team. It must be bad as they seem to be off message and just flaying about. Obama is going to be forced to make more appearances than they would like as each time he does there is the real chance of a melt down. It is early in the race, tons can happen especially with the press we have. McCain/Palin must stay focused.

Of course he will. All apperances by anyone and everyone on those late night shows are 100% scripted. Seriously. They are totally planed, regardless of the guest or their purpose on the show.

I think the last minute DWI story is what made it close.

The DWI story was Bush/Gore in 2000. The reason it was so close in 2004 is because of the Fallujah attacks on our troops, and the Abu Ghraib "torture" story that ran all summer and fall up to the election. It really looked like Iraq was a chaotic mess.

The convention bounce has helped not only McCain but also attitudes toward Republican congressional candidates and the GOP in general.

... snip ...

In the new poll, taken Friday through Sunday, McCain leads Obama by 54%-44% among those seen as most likely to vote. The survey of 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/— 3 points for both samples.

Great news. We need a nationwide repudiation of communism.

I am inclined to agree......part of the phenomenon with Obama is the cheering throngs he has. These will not exist during the debates.

You’re absolutely correct. Barry won’t be schooling anybody during the debates.

This is great news.

But I don’t understand only 2% undecided? 54 + 44 = 98%.

Other polls have consistently showed 8-10% undecided.

If true, this is hugh and series. ;)

Wow. I notice it is buried at the bottom of the story. You have to read the whole thing to get this bit of info..

They hid the good news very well.

Not that the democrats would ever consider following the law, but now that Obama and Biden are officially the democrats nominees, if Obama drops, Biden moves to the top and picks a new VP.

Actually, if Obama drops out, the DNC can pick whomever they want. The only question is whether or not they have passed the filing deadline.

However, we learned in New Jersey that not even filing deadlines really matter.

Obama’s internal polling must be BAD and getting worse! They probaly started seeing it when palin was announced as veep. So team Obama agreed to the BOR interview. Why would he do that if he wasn’t in trouble?

Yup, I modified my claim a bit in post 83, and no, I could care less about the Patriots, I just want McCain/Palin to run up the score in the same way that the Patriots did last year. Besides, I’m a Cowboys fan!
