MSNBC TAKES INCENDIARY HOSTS FROM ANCHOR SEAT... DEVELOPING...
Drudge ^

Posted on 09/07/2008 6:33:59 PM PDT by flyfree

MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channel’s coverage of the election.

That experiment appears to be over.

After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.

The change — which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle — is a direct result of tensions associated with the channel’s perceived shift to the political left.

“The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into what’s supposed to be straight news programming,” said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

I can only imagine that the sponsors of the network were involved with this. NBC is such a leftist organization that I find it hard to believe that they would take this upon themselves to make this change.

There was a sponsors boycott waged against MSNBC this summer by Hillary Clinton's followers because of the bias against her campaign (see: http://www.womenboycottmsnbc.com/). While I have not seen any organized efforts from the Conservative base, it wouldn't surprise me if the treatment by the media regarding Sarah Palin rekindled this effort by women across the nation.

I think Noonan is well respected, and she was humiliated by MSNBC (imo, she deserved it), she probably complained.

LOL I bet Steve’s kid was messing with him.

Steve’s son Peter went out and was asking the protesters all kinds of political questions...

Say like.. “Who is the current Vice President” and “Do you know why you’re protesting?”

Most could not answer.

DU is already calling for a boycott of David Gregory. Looks like he’s the real “monkey-in-the-middle”.

I’m guessing it also has to do with Palin giving her interview to ABC. Perhaps there were some suggestions made to MSNBC as to why they probably weren’t even under consideration.

The other possibility is that Olbermann and Matthews simply can’t play nice, even with their network-mates, and the atmosphere became to poisoned.

Any way it cuts, these guys just got punk’d.

That incendiary feeling those two clowns got in the butt is from Sarah Palin wielding a flame thrower on the MSM.

David Gregory is a disgusting, unadulterated Repuke shill.

You know, if David Gregory is the most right wing person you are familiar with, it's possible that you're living in some sort of left-wing echo chamber.

You look at that transcript and they have no idea Palins speech just led to a 13 point swing in the polls....and how they were shocked they targeted the media.

I knew an anchor that used to get so mad at the White House Press Briefings.

He claimed the press wasn’t asking enough tough questions of whatever Republican was at the podium.

Gee whiz - presstitutes and FRAUDcasters might be starting to get the idea that we small people really don’t enjoy their biased reporting.

I hope this trend of reporterettes whining about being written letters pointing out their bias and producers changing anchors, etc, doesn’t continue. If it does, people might start watching their drivel and reading and buying newspapers again.

I don’t want to see that happen until there is a complete collapse of their stock prices and sales of their meager remaining assets to someone actually committed to reporting the NEWS rather than trying to shape public opinion.
