LADIES' MAN MAC IS A PLAYER IN NY (NY in play???)
NY Post ^ | 9/15/08 | Fred Dicker

BOOSTED by the selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate, Republican John McCain has experienced a surge of support among women in heavily Democratic New York state - where he has closed the gap with Barack Obama, new private polls show.

The internal Republican and Democratic polls, details of which were provided to The Post, have stunned members of both parties - and produced deep worries among Democrats.

One great concern for Democrats is that the data show a continuous movement toward the McCain-Palin ticket by women, a majority of whom traditionally favor Democrats. (SNIP)

If NY is in play, that means it’s essentially over for Obama. He cannot win if he loses NY.

I have strong confidence in the professionalism of the McCain campaign, from what I’ve seen so far.

I think they are smart enough not to invest a lot of resources in states where they have no hope of victory just because some “polls” tell them they might have a chance.

California. NY. NJ. These states are not good places to expend campaign resources. As I’m sure they know.

If this is true, this may be the very first time my vote cast for president will actually count!

Up until now my only claim to fame has been “well...our COUNTY always goes red!”

Hard to believe it could actually happen but this New Yorker can dream. If McCain takes NY it means he wins nationally in a landslide. Still a long way to go, though, and we need to fight any over-confidence. Just a few weeks ago we were feeling despondent and now we’re talking about winning NY? What a mood swing.

OK, this really got me:

“The polls found McCain closing the gap with Obama during the past 10 days - in the wake of Palin’s sensational GOP convention speech, Obama’s crack that “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig,” and amid a swirling controversy over Palin’s credentials to be vice president.”

WHERE IN THE BLOODY BLAZES HAS THE PRESS BEEN REGARDING THE CONTROVERSY “SWIRLING” AROUND BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S CREDENTIALS TO BE THE !@#$%^#* ****PRESIDENT****???????

I hope my blood pressure returns to normal sometime soon here. ;-)

I hihgly doubt NY will be in play by early October. The corrupt democrat machine will once again deliver NY to their ticket despite however many people from north of White Plains vote for McCain.

New York? NEW YORK?????? WOW!!!!!!!! This is a dream come true! If Obama’s having trouble in New York, then he’s really in trouble and, as you pointed out, his campaign is a sinking ship!

We’re gonna win this!!!!!

McCain-Palin’08!!!!!

McCain Manhattan has been out campaigning for weeks now...handing out fliers and parading with signs at weekend street fairs. There are over 1,000 members in the group so far.

As a NYer, I’ll say this:

We can hope, we can dream, but hear me now: the dead will be walking come November, as will the infirm, the psychotic, the illegal and the criminal. And they will ALL be voting for ‘Bama.

And NOONE will check IDs.

Regards,

PS: Hope I’m wrong.

We’re gonna win this!!!!!

I have been very optimistic since the Palin selection, but I am worried about the fallout with this Lehman collapse.

Stock market will fall significantly & Obama is already using it as a stick to beat up McPalin

Hot diggity dog!

I never thought my absentee ballot for NYC would be able to help McCain/Palin.

“Stock market will fall significantly & Obama is already using it as a stick to beat up McPalin”

That can easily be turned and used to beat up the Dem Congress, which is at least as culpable. Regardless, McCain/Palin are running as legitimate change/reform candidates, more so than NObama/Biden.

No win for NObama there.

If Obama is not 20 ahead and McCain is polling close in NY this is over because that will be happening all over, in California and everywhere.

It will be a landslide if Obama cannot win NY State by at least 58/40.
