That’s not what the Tennessean story says. It says that Kernell confirmed that his son is “at the center of heated Internet discussion into the hacking” and confirmed that his son “is being widely named on Internet blogs and chatrooms” in connection with the story. Nowhere in the Tennessean piece does Kernell confirm that the boy is, in fact, the hacker.
And the other blog post referenced in this thread doesn’t have any links in it whatsoever.
Now Kernell’s kid may indeed be the hacker, but I think Miniter jumped the gun. Shouldn’t that fact, if it is a fact, be confirmed before we go to Lowe’s, buy the rope and start picking out a tree with a good strong branch on it?
I’m sorry, but I’m an old school journalist who was taught to get independent confirmation from multiple sources before going with a story. So far, we don’t have one confirmation yet.
Let’s get real confirmation, and I’ll condemn the kid, his dad, the Obama campaign and the ass they all rode in on.
First things first...

A reasonable point.
The Hillbuzz article seems pretty sure, but you are correct that there should be another, independent confirmation.
Okay men, put down the torches, the pitchforks, the keyboards...
The other blog referenced in post #12 DOES have a link to a story with much more information. It’s to the left above the perp’s dad’s picture.
Way to go, JP. Much as I feel the urge to jump, the evidence just ain't there yet. It seems to be all circumstantial at this point.
We need to stick with our principles and not behave like liberals.
