ROCKWELL — A Depot Street couple discovered Sunday that someone did more than just disagree with their choice for president.
Someone spray-painted a racial slur on the Barack Obama campaign sign in their front yard.
Sharon Osetek, who is black, and her husband, Alan Osetek, who is white, were leaving their Depot Street home Sunday morning when they discovered someone had spray-painted the word "n-----" on the Obama sign in front of their house.
The sign is blue with the names Obama and Biden printed in white. The sign is outlined in white and a lighter shade of blue.
Someone had sprayed the slur in white across the sign.
The couple were on their way to Obama's campaign rally in Charlotte Sunday and were leaving their home around 7:45 a.m.
On their way out of the driveway, Sharon noticed the writing.
"It was shock," she said. "Even though I knew I was in that type environment, it didn't really bother me until yesterday."
Alan was driving, and he didn't immediately get a good look at the sign. But Sharon did.
"I could pretty much make it out at the time," she said. "It was written on both sides."
Alan was a bit skeptical at first. He told his wife he didn't believe someone would actually write the "N word" on their sign.
But he soon saw it, too.
The couple decided to continue on to the rally, leaving the sign in place at the edge of their yard.
The Oseteks chose to leave the sign up to "show the ignorance that still goes on," Sharon said.
"I was hoping I didn't live in this type community," she said.
When they arrived home, the sign was gone. As they approached their front porch, it was lying near the steps.

Happened here in town, found out it was a Hillary supporter, rabid liberal dem...and get this.. head of the local ‘Democrats United’...
It was just Whoopi saying hello.
Perhaps it wasn’t a slur. Perhaps ‘My’ was left off by the tagger who meant to demonstrate solidarity.

Polygraph these two to make sure they didn’t do it themselves. Too many ‘hate crimes’ are done by the supposed victim(s). BS meter going off.
Actually yeah, there were some in the next town over but they were on the posters of an Asian-American running for Mayor of a large suburban township. Same sort of thing though.
It turned out to be some older teenagers. I had some friends saying that this kind of thing was rare.

And it is funny to watch the MSM squirm over 33% of DEMOCRATS will not vote for the O because he is black.
Everyone else that won’t vote for him is because he is stupid.

The media never bothered to bat an eyelash when hundreds of swastikas were painted on the signs and homes of Bush-Cheney supporters in 2004.
Everywhere such incidents were treated as “isolated” local events with no discussion of the national trend for such attacks and intimidation.
If this happened to these people, I denounce it. There has been a history of people crying wolf when they call something a hate crime.

I just tried to find that Laird Wilcox piece you were referring to....did you mean “The Hoaxer Project Report”, which Wilcox apparently self-published in 1991?
I couldn’t find any copies of it for sale, but the few books that I did find that quote it refer to it as an examination of ostensible skinhead and anti-semetic vandalisms, not as perpetrated by leftists.
That won’t help me explain to these guys that 99% of these “vandalisms” are really perpetrated by the Leftist Democrats to get sympathy and news!
