I think that the judge should offer the young man a choice: 1) Do 1 year in the Federal system or, 2) Have Sarah Palin publicly wash out his mouth with soap for the despicable things he wrote on MySpace.

He should get some prison time. Alaska has strict penalties. And the Feds should add to it. And any threats are taken seriously by the Secret Service.

Crooked politicians DO go to jail in Tennessee! Then WHY haven't they indicted this kid who broke into Gov. Palin's email account? I'll believe DemocRATS go to jail in Tenn. when I see one in handcuffs!

True, but sentencing a 20 year old to 25 years for a stupid act like this is cruel and barbaric, to say the least.

I agree that from what we know this guy appears to be just an immature trickster who did what he did because he could.
I’d be inclined to give him a break but then I think about it some more and think about the potential devastation that could have happened as a result of his crime. His actions could have affected the outcome of a presidential election. The ramifications of that is downright frightening and could affect world events. This guy needs punishment that hurts. I don’t know what that is but it certainly isn’t probation and it certainly isn’t a slap on the wrist and he goes on with his life. This is a serious crime and deserves serious punishment.

If EVER .... there was an example to be made.
Unfortunately it will be the wrong example I’m sure.
