Breaking: Obama Refuses to Delay the Debate

“In my mind, it’s more important than ever that we present ourselves to the American people and describe where we want to take the country and where we want to take the economy,” said the Democratic candidate for the Presidency, Senator Barack Obama.

The statement was given in response to Senator John McCain’s surprising announcement that he had suspended his campaign to focus on the looming financial crisis in America by returning to Washington to help craft and pass emergency legislation.

McCain had invited his opponent to join him in returning to Washington to deal with the crisis. He also asked for a delay in the first debate of the General election which is scheduled for Friday evening in Mississippi.

Senator Obama refused, telling the media “This is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess.” Earlier in the day, Obama had agreed to issue a joint statement with McCain concerning the crisis. However, sources in the Obama campaign are now intimating that Senator McCain’s move is some kind of political “ploy”.

I sat in the hairdressers' shop today, listening to two Democrats rip McCain, Bush, Sarah Palin and the economy to shreds. But most interestingly, neither woman had a single thing to say about Obama himself. Just that they were anti-Bush, anti-war. The one woman said, I'm very traditional, a woman shouldn't have five kids if she's not gonna stay home to raise them.

“Send in Sarah to sub!”

Excellent suggestion! As good as McCain seems to be with surprises in this campaign, Sarah could sneak in to the Obama Show on Friday night under a hooded cape. As he takes the stage, she could fling it off and take the stage herself. Oh, I would love to see the msm have mass hysteria on the spot!

What do You mean?

Sarah for Sub? NO!

Sarah Palin FOR PRESIDENT!

McCain is looking like he cant walk and chew gum at the same time! Tell him to get his butt in gear and campaign and debate NOW! Thats just a little higher calling than being one of 100 Blowhard Senators trying to get their name on somemore screwed up legislation. Damn, he shoots himself in the foot every darn time!

“While Obama has been cramming for this debate all week, and will be all day on Friday, McCain will look like he’s totally in control.”

This is what everyone knew Obama would do. Now we will see how it plays out. This could be the most important pieces of legislation congress has had to act on in our time and Obama abstained.

Friday’s debate is about foreign policy, not the economy.

McCain need to come out and say: “Talk..Talk that’s all that Obama can do. I would call him Senator, but I don’t know that he has spent enough time doing his job rather than talking. Talk, Talk and more Talk....what else has he ever done!

Go debate yourself, Obama.

He can debate Biden, they seem to disagree on many issues.

This perfectly meshes with his previous ststement he would rather lose an election then risk losing a war.

It’s all about “Country First”

Give the kid a break, he doesn’t even know how many states are in the U.S. how do you expect him to know when he would take office?

I'm guessing nObama does not realize that he does not become president of the 57 United States, including those of us who cling to guns and religion, until late January...

Considering that Obama never worked much as a Senator, why do we think he would start now?

To him, being a Senator is just a title, not a job.

While Obama has been cramming for this debate all week, and will be all day on Friday, McCain will look like he’s totally in control.

Like freezing the kicker with your last time out.

A novel tactic for politics. An interesting campaign, at least.

Another gaffe. Hey Barry in 40 days you or John will not be the President. GWB will be until January 20,2009.

McCain saw this crisis coming a few years ago, all was blocked by the Dems. That’s the only thing he needs to say in the economic debate. It’s an unspinnable fact. He saw the surge working. That’s all he needs to say on Friday’s debate.

Obama HAS no trump card.
