(CNN) McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.

A delay would be cool if the 'rats are planning a H! substitution.
Mine has a cute little house over it with a half moon in the door. Sigh.
I can hear it now...
It feeds into the media-driven BS story that Palin isn’t ready. Why propose anything that gives those vultures more ammo, even if it’s an unfair charge? If they’re going to postpone the first presidential debate, then reschedule it for next Tuesday, or reschedule it for after what is now the final presidential debate. Don’t give the media an angle.
They want to replace Palin and doofus with McCain and nObama. No thanks! That would be a HUGE mistake.
Obama is prepping to debate... but lost at least a day in preparation and couple of nights sleep going into the debates on Friday.
McCain well rested, old time debater will squash the idiot boy.
I’m not so sure McCain made the best move with this whole shocker today.

Guys, im telling you this looks strange.
It’s really starting to look like McCain is trying to change up the debate schedule. It doesnt matter if it is the truth or not...it’s all about perception.
I agree... rightly or wrongly, Palin’s image is being tarnished on a daily basis. Her favorable rating has dropped because people feel she is hiding from the media.
I think the more interviews she does the better.

Subject: Palin campaign suspension
According to McCain senior advisers, the suspension of the McCain
campaign means that Palin has also suspended all campaign activities.
She will attend JSMs speech tomorrow at CGI and the campaign will not
confirm if we are still traveling to Philadelphia tomorrow.
Palin spokesperson, Tracey Schmitt on a conference call just said, We
are the McCain-Palin campaign and I think Senator McCain was clear about
what it meant that he was suspending his campaign so if we have any
announcements or updates abt the schedule we will certainly let you
know.
We are part of the McCain-Palin campaign. It is one ticket.
The original plan was for Palin to attend JSMs CGI address tomorrow
morning (which she will still attend) and then travel to Philly tomorrow
And attend a pooled debate watching party in Philly, and then do prep
for her own debate in Philadelphia.
As soon as I have more info I will pass along.

If the debate happens. McCain is now saying that if an agreement isn’t reached on the bailout before the debate, he won’t be attending. It will be fun to watch Obama debate himself.
and why would he be doing so. If you have a conspiracy, tell me ?
Agreed. The whole suspension of campaign and playing with the debate schedule seems erratic and from a position of weakness.
I can’t see anything good coming from this.
Big big mistake. Only losers suspend their campaigns, and only chickens postpone debates. McCain is basically proving every criticism of Palin true with this, and making himself look too old and tired to multi-task. Oh well, thinking Obama might lose was fun while it lasted.
Of course the Obamabots are already saying Palin isn’t prepared and that postponing only proves she is a horrible choice.
In a way this is good.. If there was some truth to rumors that Biden was going to be replaced by Hillary after the VP Debate.. Then by all means put it off!!! The Obama is stuck with plughead...
Probably so. McCain really does not care about a potential, and perhaps impending, financial disaster. In fact, I bet behind the scenes McCain engineered the Lehman Bros., Merrill Lynch, AIG, Fannie/Freddie debacles just so he could avoid a debate regarding the subject matter that his strongest suit.
It’s all about perception.
Sw33t! Pre-empting and pushing back the Biden drops out and sHillary pinch hits old switcherooooo.... Ha!
