The very latest poll numbers from John Zogby put John McCain squarely ahead of Barack Obama at 46 percent to 44 percent, respectively.

McCain moved from three percentage points behind Obama to two points ahead of the democratic candidate in less than a week. One possible reason for the boost — McCain’s decision to forego politics as usual to focus on the current financial meltdown. The polling was conducted after McCain’s announcement that he would suspending his campaign.

This is the third time the Zogby junk internet poll has been posted.

The Gallup poll shows a tie - there's no reason to cling to a junk poll.

"squarely ahead of Barack Obama at 46 percent to 44 percent"

That's a rather charitable way to put it for a 2 point lead.

What will George Soros do? He wasted millions on Kerry. Hussein Obama was his boy! He thought a Muslim Marxist was a sure winner. Hope Soros loses even more money on Hussein Obama.

Why do you consider the Gallup poll more legit than the Zogby poll? To me, every poll should be taken with at least a grain of salt.

We can only hope that Soros lost his butt in the market and will die poor, living in the back of and old Chevy Malibu. ;-)

"Zogby polled me for this one, and I back McCain."

And me.

Unbeknownst to some posters on this thread, Zogby has been refining his internet polling technique for a number of years: I've been a regular participant for about 7 or 8 years now, and this is the first I've heard of their publicizing the results.

Why do you consider the Gallup poll more legit than the Zogby poll?

Gallup is a phone poll, Zogby Interactive is an internet survey. Phone polls are statistically valid (yes, you need to be an intelligent consumer), internet surveys are sketchy at best.

Zogby has been selling his internet survey results for many years. The Wall Street Journal infamously paid for them one year (2004 I think) and ended up showing a lot of ridiculous results.

Zogby should have given them their money back.

Have you seen the crap Gallup been putting out the last two weeks ?
Gallup played games with there raw polling data and Wizbang carved it up and Rush reported it .Suddenly the Gallup poll is now tied .

First, Barry ahead. The John Ahead. Two days ago it was Barry. Now John. This race is making the stock market seem like a steady ride!

here’s how I approach the polling. Find a pollster, and stick to following those results. it may not be spot on, but it will show trends even if exact numbers are off. Personally, I like the Rasmussen and gallup polls because they have shown a tight race for weeks, and even the slightest movement shows significance over long periods of time.

Polls like the Wash Post one yesterday are junk — 42% dem and 28% rep. And, shocker, Obama was up by 9%.
