OXFORD — Sarah Palin has been keeping Emil Vicale up nights.

Vicale, owner of HeroBuilders.com, and his of designers and manufacturers have produced three different versions of a 12-inch action figure depicting the Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential nominee.

And he is selling so many of the Palin figurines that he has barely gotten any sleep since they went on sale more than a week ago.

There is the Sarah Palin Action Figure in a dark pantsuit, her hair pulled up and wearing her signature eyeglasses. Then there is the Sarah Palin Super Hero Action Figure in an open trench coat with a mini-skirt and what appears to be a gun holster on her left thigh. Even more risque, there is the Sarah Palin School Girl in a plaid mini-skirt and a low-cut shirt revealing a red bra.

The superhero and school girl version are modeled after original scantily clad line of action heroes the company created called HotBox, which were featured in the movie "Grandma's Boy," according to the company's Web site.

The Palin figures hit the market 11 days after Palin was announced as John McCain's running mate in the Nov. 4 elections. And if sales at HeroBuilders.com are any indication, of which way the election is going, Palin's team has the edge.

HeroBuilders.com doesn't offer a Joe Biden action figure.

But the Web site does sell action figures of presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain, as well as other politicians, villains and pseudo-celebrities.

For political junkies there is the 12-inch, shirtless Beach Blanket Obama, and an 8-inch plush version called Obamakins.

Or you can find a Hillary Clinton figure, as well as several versions of President George W. Bush, including one of Bush with a Texas flag on his shirt and another with a Superman cape and a USA emblem across his chest.

Bush was the figure that launched Vicale's HeroBuilders.com business.

Vicale said he made a Bush action figure for himself in February 2002 and kept it on his desk. Several people who saw it asked him to put in on the Web and sell it, so he did.

The company has since grown and gained in popularity.

Buyers have offered to buy HeroBuilders.com for $1.5 million and its trademark name $500,000 but neither is for sale, the Web site says.

The Palin action figure, which hit the Web just over a week ago, has created plenty of buzz. Dozens of Web sites and blogs are chattering about it, giving price and ordering details. Prices are $27.95 for the Palin Action Figure and $29.95 for the superhero and school girl versions.

They could make a super hero Joe Biden doll.

It would talk. ("Stand up Chuck!")

A doll whose only moving part is its mouth isn’t a big seller.

I'd rather have the R. Lee Ermey motivational figure.

Gunny Ermey offers motivational advice such as:

-PT is good for you, PT is good for me. Pain is weakness leaving the body. U-rah.
-Get on your face and start pushing. I expect 110% right now, or I will drive your *(^% in the dirt.
-Were you born that fat, or did you have to eat your entire family to achieve those results?
-Cellulite! Well any day sweetheart! That’s right, don’t make any effort. I mean, don’t bother to go the extra mile, scumbag.
-You’ve got enough blubber hanging off of your fat frame to feed a family of Eskimos for a week.
-Put some gas into it, numbnuts. You move slower than old people %*^*.
-Why are you affecting the quality of my life?
-You disgust me, you unorganized pile of grabastic ^**&!
-I’ll PT you until you die!

Hmmm... A Barney Frank action figure may sell with a certain segment of the population.
