I know, the title is creepy, but before jumping at me, just consider these facts...
1. IT IS THE WORST TIME TO BE IN POWER FOR ANY NATIONAL PARTY America has been suffering the worst economic crisis since 1929. Americans are blaming the party ruling the executive branch for this rout, and that's why McCain numbers are so low. Now think that Obama will begin his presidency with America depressed. The power will be 100% controlled by Democrats, and the anger of the folks will turn against them.
2. DECMOCRATS WILL HATE OBAMA JUST AS THEY NOW HATE THEIR DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS Obama is unable to achieve his promises, either on healthcare or social security. There is simply no money for these projets in tough economic times. An Obama presidency won't be Democratic at all, just as the 2006 democratic Congress ended up being the all-time worst, according to Democrats themselves.
3. - AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY IN TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES WILL PURSUE STATUS QUO, NO MATTER WHO IS IN CHARGE With an economic crisis at home, Americans will be careful and will probably cherish the status quo abroad. Israel is ready to strike Iran. If Israel moves wisely, the Iranian threat could be destroyed, even with Obama at the White House.
4. - THE BEST WAY TO DESTROY DEMOCRATS IS TO LET AN UNEXPERIENCED, RADICAL LEFTIE RULE THE COUNTRY DURING A RECESSION American taxpayers will never forget an Obama presidency... and this will open a freeway for Republicans in the decades following 2012.

You are overlooking the totalitarian instincts that underly Obamaism: it won’t just be the ‘fairness doctrine’ being revived as an attack on talk radio. It won’t be applied to television because the leftism there is defined to be ‘objective journalism’ (shades of the Ministry of Truth there), just to make running Rush, Hannity and the lesser voices of the right unprofitable with requirements to give equal access to shows no one will want to listen to, and no advertiser will buy time for.
No, Obama has these gradiose plans for ‘service corps’, and has even made noise about compulsory national service. Of course, they will be directed by his radical friends. Reeducation camps-lite. And his ‘civilian national security corps,’ remarks. I’m guessing they’ll have the wit to pick a color other than brown for the uniforms, but maybe not.
You can be sure his financier friends like Soros and Buffet will oblige with market manipulation to create more ‘crises’ to justify expanded government power.
Sure, the country could survive four years of standard Democrat-issue misrule. I’m just afraid that’s not what Obama represents.
Take a look at the Obama-Jugend video out of Venice, CA that YouTube has been trying to censor since folks other than the devotes of ‘the One’ took not.
That is the argument made in 1932 as well. Surprisingly, FDR’s 13-year Presidency is seen as one of the most illustrious by many Americans along with Reagan’s.

I wish I could agree. I fear (and totally believe) that if B.O. and the dems take office they will implement such significant and overwhelming change that we will not be able to recover. In other words, they will change the rules, not just ignore them as they do now. And with the press on their side they’ll be able to do all this with no opposition. Sound overly dramatic? Look around. How many “citizens” don’t even know who the Vice President is. They have no idea about our Constitution or what’s in it. And they know even less about history. They won’t know enough to stand up and defend themselves and they won’t want to. This is the way it is, folks. If we lose this one we’re over.
Sorry, but they will totally screw our military folk.
Right after His Exalted Messianess is elevated to the Throne, the media will start crowing about the “health care crisis” and that’s all we will hear for months, until the liberals get together and pass nationalized health care.
Then it will be gay so-called marriage. Then it will be reducing the military. Then it will be abortion until 1 hour after birth, paid for by our taxes.
They will be praising The Savior for such a long time afterwards, that the events suggested in this posting will never happen.
The economic distress caused by advanced socialism will be blamed on Bush.
Same reason they voted for Carter in 1976, they think it will get rid of the stench of the previous administrations. The 76 election was essentially Carter vs Nixon, Ford was irrelevant. This election is Obama vs Bush, McCain is irrelevant.
I remember a certain amount of hysteria about Clinton planning to impose a dictatorship. I never gave it any credence because, at heart, Bill Clinton had neither the megalomania or the desire to do so.
Now an Obama presidency might be just like any other Democratic presidency—feckless, reckless, but not dictatorial or ultimatively destructive of America as a whole.
I’m not so sure with Obama, however.
We are still suffering from the CIA, State Department, Justice, ETC!@, ETC@!, being filled with RAT leftist hacks during the 8 years of the Clinton Administration. An Obama administration would stuff these agencies and make the Clinton hacks seem like far right patriots.

One cautionary tale here to keep in mind, remember that FDR tried to pad the Supreme Court. Now I do agree that if Obama is elected with a Veto-proof Congress, we could really be in deep doo-doo.

The man cannot be allowed to go anywhere near the white house, even some Dems have said the Dem party has gone to far to the left
This was my position for your reasons and a few others, at least it was my position until I read up on Obama.
I now do not think this country will survive an Obama presidency.
Seriously.
It is why I decided to vote after all.
