Gwen Ifill’s book triggers impartiality questions (No qusetions, she's another MSM partisan hack)
Boston Herald ^ | 10/2/2008 | Jessica Heslam

The pressure is on Boston’s own Gwen Ifill as the PBS veteran prepares to moderate tonight’s much anticipated vice presidential debate amid revelations she’s writing a flattering book on Democrat Barack Obama.

The timing of the tome, “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama,” which is scheduled to debut on Inauguration Day, has also called into question Ifill’s impartiality as referee of the Sarah Palin-Joe Biden debate, which is shaping up to be the most watched in history.

“It’s probably not the greatest thing on Earth that she is in that role and it’s probably going to really force her to be fully even-handed,” Thomas Patterson, professor of government and the press at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, told the Herald yesterday. “If anything, she’s got to be really careful with her questioning of Sarah Palin.”

There’s no difference between this lying leftist anti-journalist and all the other lying leftist anti-journalists. Some write books; some don’t. Meaningless.

Lest anyone have any doubt about who Gwen Ifill prefers, she has a "brilliant baby cousin" who is a prof. at the U of MD Law School. Surprised? I didn't think so.

Ifill is in a no lose situation.

-—she has a book deal no matter
-—PB$ big donors will take care of her no matter
-—MSM has her back
-—race card for last resort
-—if Palin stumbles, the MSM will shift all guns to her and the public will follow
-—if Biden stumbles, nothing

In a couple of days, Ifill will be long forgotten. The damage done and McCain-Palin will not get help from MSM.

Best case scenario is Palin knocks it out of the park. That may very well happen, but remember the clip after Palin’s speech at the RNC....she hammered Palin after the great performance and so will the MSM after tonight.

I’m trying to be optimistic about tonight, but its very hard.

OMG, I hadn't seen that one. Looks like the whole family is in the tank for Obama. McCain needs to fight back and fight back hard or he's going to get crushed in the elections.

We need to end this partially public financing of PBS.

“I’ve got a pretty long track record covering politics and news, so I’m not particularly worried that one-day blog chatter is going to destroy my reputation,” Ifill told the Associated Press. “The proof is in the pudding. They can watch the debate tomorrow night and make their own decisions about whether or not I’ve done my job.” Ifill

It's that long track record that's the problem.

I well remember when she moderated a town hall with Bush Sr and Bill Clinton. When Bush attempted to ask a reasonable question about how character is important for the office, Ifill cut him off rudely saying that personal attacks were not permittted and only issues would be discussed. It was obvious that she was following the Dem talking points to minimize Clinton's glaring vulnerability.

On the plus side, Ifill probably hates Palin and Biden equally. They are both white.

***********
Well, if that is the case...doesn’t she have to hate Obama at least 50%? I mean, he’s equally white as he is black.

I wonder if that part of the following would have ever been written by Ifill???

The timing of the tome, “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Alan Keys,” which is scheduled to debut on Inauguration Day, has also called into question Ifill’s impartiality as referee of the Sarah Palin-Joe Biden debate, which is shaping up to be the most watched in history.

Ax her that question, and see if she would even address the issue. I think NOT.

There actually being no prospect of a moderator who is actually objective - still less actually conservative - the best thing that could happen would be if the debate were moderated by nothing but a chess timer to allocate the microphone time equally.

Failing that, the best we can hope for is a "moderator" who is on record as being in the tank for the opposition. So we don't actually want Ifill to be replaced. Just compromised.
