Journalists continue to ask, What was John McCain thinking in selecting the gaffe-prone Gov. Sarah Palin?
In what has now become a disturbing pattern, the Alaska governor seems either unable or unwilling to avoid embarrassing statements that are often as untrue as they are outrageous. Recently, for example, in an exclusive interview with news anchor Katie Couric, Palin gushed, When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didnt just talk about the, you know, princes of greed. He said, Look, heres what happened. Apparently the former Alaskan beauty queen failed to realize that in 1929 there was neither widespread television nor was Franklin Roosevelt even President.
Sometimes the Idaho-native Palin seems to confuse and embarrass her own running mate. Shortly after her nomination, she introduced a John McAmerica; then she referred to the Republican ticket as the Palin-McCain administration; and finished by calling Sen. Obama, Senator George Obama. The Palin gaffes seem to be endless: on her way to Washington to meet the national press corps, Palin, the mother of five, once again stumbled this time characterizing Senator Biden as Congressman Joe Biden, who, she chuckled, was good looking.

This would be satire, of course, but it would be nice if Governor Sarah actually did start listing Senator Joe’s gaffes. I would be happy to see Gwen spluttering, trying to stem the tide of embarrassment.
excellent.
Hanson rocks!
Yikes! The woman must have not had her glasses on. What is good looking about Biden?
This article is satire. It was actually Biden who said that about Palin. Hanson is reframing all of Biden’s gaffes, as if they had been said by Sarah.
“Stand Up Chuck”!
For this reason alone she should be at the top of the ticket, not second. Palin would make a great President.
Fine parody but dangerous. You can expect the unscrupulous MSM to pick up quotes from this piece and use them to smear Gov. Palin. They will pretend that the piece is not satire. “See, even a conservative commentator says that Palin is unqualified.”
What passes for a Sarah Palin “gaffe” is her remark that Russian bombers are violating Alaskan Airspace.
Clowns like (conservative) David Brooks rush to cover the “error” and fret that she will be better briefed to avoid such “mistakes” in the future.
The “gaffe,” pounced on by Andrea Mitchell on the Obama TODAY show, was her listing the Roe v. Wade as a Supreme court decision that she did not agree with.
This media take down is not even in full swing yet.
Wake up. It’s a parody.
Oh, I wish I would have known that before I replied.
I like Victor Davis Hanson. But, he is not known for parody. I’m afraid the idiot MSM will now quote this as truly from Governor Palin.
They fear her so much that they put both Senator
Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. and Senator Barrack
Hussein Obama glaring faults on her.
I think Sarah should ask Gwen, “So how’s that book coming along?”
Yikes, I was reading this saying to myself this is all familiar, but not right...why is Hanson slamming her...at the end I caught on, what a maroon.
You need to re-read the article. That was said by Joe Biden.
I pray that America gets to see the real Palin tonight at the debate - live and unedited. If the libs try to cheat - I hope it blows right back in their faces.
We need a rule here on FR to place (Satire) in the heading of any satire materials.
